Sex & Nudity

  • A character enters an American frontier town. A woman, presumably a prostitute, leans out of a window and blows him a kiss. Then, a male prisoner leans out of his cell window and does the same.
  • Lionel constantly wants to cover up Mr. Link's "modesty". To be clear, his "modesty" is never visible to the audience, even when he appears naked, as he's covered in thick fur.
  • An incidental male character briefly shows buttock cleavage.
  • The creature's pants are off on the train.
  • The word "nipple" was used once.

Violence & Gore

  • A bar-brawl breaks out. Punches, kicks and headbutts are exchanged. A man smashes a bottle over another man's head and a man is thrown through a glass window.
  • A woman is accidentally elbowed in the face and knocked over the side of a boat; she grabs the side and is later rescued, getting accidentally hit on the head in the process.
  • A man is kicked in the crotch.
  • There is a lot of violence. A horse is made to kick a person through a wall. A woman hits her head on the roof of the train and does not get back up. Each time the children instantly declared they were dead,

Profanity

  • One use of 'bugger'. Characters often seem as though they're about to curse but say something like 'shoot' or 'fiddlesticks' instead.
  • A character was about to say "shit," before being cut off by another character. This is just for comedy

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A bar interior is seen, in which background characters are drinking what is presumed to be alcohol. The lead characters only ever order tea, however.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Characters are threatened with spears.
  • There is talk of killing and stuffing Mr. Link, as well as simply killing the other lead characters.
  • Laika just makes really dark movies
