It was announced today that the XFL would be returning in 2020. I knew the story vaguely so I watched this to get a better picture. It gives a good timeline of the events, but the celebrity comments littered throughout are god awful.
They are constantly interviewing these people who clearly have disdain for the XFL and were loosely if at all involved, then they have player interviews where they all look back on it fondly. Who cares about what Bob Costas thinks?! It's clear the producers had an agenda, they must have been very disappointed when the players didn't all tear it to shreds.
It honestly just distracts from the point of the story. All I cared about coming into this was learning the motivations behind the XFL, the problems they faced, and the downfall. Listening to these Hollywood people act like objectification of women and hitting in sports is the most awful thing they've ever heard of gets old instantaneously. Vince McMahon is a sleazy womanizer, if you didn't know that before you definitely will after watching this!
