A Christmas themed Wes Anderson short made as a commercial for H&M's "Come Together" clothing line. Wes Anderson put an astounding amount of money and and his signature style to turn this short into a Christmas miracle.

Style of Wes Anderson Here

Warning: Spoilers
We can clearly recognize the style of Wes Anderson in the framing and how this was directed . It remind me a lot of the grand budapest hotel and i really enjoyed it even it was pretty short and have just a christimas spirit about some mens who reunite arround a table and celebrate christmas and we see the H and M logo . And we understand that was a PUB for TV . Pretty good anyway.

Delightful

I think Wes's style works even better in a short film than it does in a full length movie. It means the stylistic elements feel more charming rather than overused & routine.

I love watching Adrien Brody - he has such unique features and a fun way of acting.

Very charming, who cares if it's for H&M - that part can easily be ignored because it isn't shoved in your face as a part of the story, which is the right way to do it.

Christmas is Here! (In the Style of Wes Anderson)
BuddyBoy6030 November 2016
ABOUT: Just around the holidays, a conductor regrettably informs the passengers aboard the train that, due to weather and mechanical difficulties, they will be delayed for a couple more hours. Meanwhile, the conductor and his crew prepare something special for the passengers.

REVIEW: "Come Together" is a Christmas-themed advertisement/ short film written and directed by Wes Anderson for H & M. While running just under 4 minutes, this mini movie is very much eye-catching every second. I was delighted with how simple the story is yet it delivers so well. It is very brief yet very clear with what it's trying to tell, its like a Christmas vignette of a scenario with an effective and touching message. I felt all gooey and and warm inside, like a kid by the time it ended which is a plus for me.

It's also a treat to see Wes Anderson back in the scene even if it's just for a short film. His distinctive style (humor and technical), is all over and is well in place as always. Actually, how the movie looks is very reminiscent of "The Darjeeling Limited" (a previous feature film by Wes Anderson which also stars Adrien Brody) specifically with the train scenes.

FINAL WORD: "Come Together", succeeds as an advertisement/ short film. It's very concise, very well made, and quite memorable. Wes Anderson's signature is a welcome sight and he is possibly teasing us for his upcoming project which he is currently filming. This short film is also timely, as the Christmas season is upon us. It's definitely a great watch and a must for those who like the works of Wes Anderson. Try it.

Stylish but empty

Wes Anderson has done quite a few branded shorts (or long adverts if you prefer) but yet this one took me by surprise as it is for a reasonably ordinary brand (H&M is no Prada for sure). Anyway, this short is very much about his style as it flits across a train at Christmas time, giving a small boy a Christmas treat. In terms of content I found little here to like and my overwhelming impression and memory was 'meh'. It does look and sound great though, which I guess is what it is all about. The set design, the costumes, the camera movement through the period detail all gives it a pleasing look.

The festive season probably makes it work better, since one tends to forget such eye candy treats in the same way as we accept unnecessary gifts and eat unnecessary food; however it does not make the short something of more substance or something I would want to return to – it just makes it is a stylish piece which is wholly empty. It feels phoned in, which of course I guess it is; although it works for what it is, that is still not really enough to make it worth seeking out.

Wonderful music, forgettable film
Horst_In_Translation5 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
"Come Together" is a live action short film written and directed by Oscar nominee Wes Anderson for the popular fashion company H&M. It was released slightly more than a week ago, so it's as new and fresh as it gets and another addition to Wes Anderson's (short film) body of work. The lead actor here is Oscar winner Adrien Brody, who plays a train conductor and has to inform his passengers that there is a problem and they will have a delay, possibly not arriving in time for Christmas. We see all the train passengers, different cultures, clothes and ages, and eventually they celebrate Christmas together in the train. The story is completely forgettable I must say and the connection to fashion and garments is almost non-existent despite what the film is intended to advertise. But the one upside here is the wonderful Christmas music. Two pretty nice song selections here, but sadly they are also not original, so the ones who deserve the praise are these who created them a long long time ago and not really Anderson for picking them for his work here. Overall, even if Anderson's style is clearly visible, this is not a particularly good watch, not even during the holidays. Luckily it is that short. Watch something else instead.
