Rich people
BandSAboutMovies6 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Edie Somner (Kat Foster) is married with children yet on the edge of divorce and dealing with the ups and downs of her husband's career when she decides to stop accommodating everyone else and bring some type of meaning to ger life. That's the story behind the first movie from writer, director and producer Amy Miller Gross.

The need for Edie to get more out of her life may be lost on me, as I've never made $275,000 a year, much less run up a decorating bill like that. As a result, her issues - she never gets to write what she wants and gives up so much of her life to everyone else - is lost on me. Wake up at 3 AM and write about movies all night like I do, I guess.

I really shouldn't put my mindset into this film. So how about this: there are some pretty funny moments in this film, including a scene where the AirBNB guests that the Somners have staying in their home are staging a large orgy when Edie comes home blasted on NYC's finest cannabis and her husband does Molly with his potential new boss.

Larisa Oleynik (10 Things I Hate About You, The Secret World of Alex Magic, The Baby-Sitters Club) is in this, as is Mark Linn-Baker (yes, Cousin Larry from Perfect Strangers).

If you know want to know what it was like to be rich and dealing with issues in New York before the tribulations of 2020, this movie has you covered.

Weird people
ricpantale19 December 2019
I don't know why I watched this Artsy fartsy film to the end...I guess I was fascinated by how weird people can be. The main couple are only normal in that they have three children. You want to reach into the screen and slap some of the characters......Each scene becomes more outrageous and after the film is over, you just wondered what the movie was all about

Are negative numbers an option here??

Pure, unadulterated manure. There is not one positive thing that can be said about any of the characters. As for the "script," just another blah-blah tale of woe are us/nobody understands nonsense. Don't waste your time.

AWFUL
jott-4415319 July 2021
Entitled rich white people complain about how hard their life is for 98 min. After the husband quits his job, nothing really changes for them except that they have to air bnb their 5000 sq ft Manhattan apartment that they own for a few nights over a few months. Wahhhhh poor 1%ers!!!

NYC explained
oypy-811291 February 2020
I finally understood why there are so many whackodoodles in NYC, it is explained in this film quite well. The main couple are more or less relatable people. The rest are drugged up adults playing mentally challenged little kids, artificially creating never ending fun making weird decisions. Voting booth including, so thanks to whoever wrote the script to give us insight on nyc life.

Light hearted. Not that bad

People complaining, about rich ppl complaining, is SO annoying. Regardless of where anyone is in life, wealthy, middle class, poor, what business is it if ours. They're people, like us. Like you. What?...they can't have problems because they have money?..money that they earn, from hard work from whatever it is they do, from having gone to school/university?!? I enjoyed this, for its not taking itself too seriously, I rather liked the characters too. I am not rich, i don't care that there are rich ppl out there while i'm not. I'm also a born and bred New Yorker, so the NYC ambience resonates w/me.

  • It's the same thing w/ Huge tent pole movies, Sci-Fi/Action, Marvel, Star Wars etc etc.... where people just have no idea how to sit back, relax your mind, & enjoy a movie. Everything doesn't have to be so perfect, or make 100% sense..You don't have to agree 100% w/ everything about it. Loosen up a bit.
