Cheesy episode.

Father Brown has taken on some diverse subjects in fairness, but Alien invasion has to be the most bonkers yet. I would imagine back in the fifties and sixties alien invasion stories were bigger news then would be the case now, so a clever subject which talked into people's fears. I applaud the episode for being a little more ethnically diverse, and it seems efforts have been made. It's a fun story, but not particularly memorable, well acted and well produced as always.

A bit of an eye roller, but good middle of the road episode

Not my favorite episode, but not terrible either. The Roswell incident in America took place I believe about 6 years prior, so I can see alien invasions being all the rage in comics and B-movies at the time and especially young boys having an interest in them.

I liked that they tackled how easy it was for household help to get fired if they get sick without a second thought and that Alisha was raising her brother on her own after their father returned to India after their mother's death.

This episode also tackles parental abuse, an attempted forced abortion, and Father Brown riding a moped, at least for this episode only.

Mars Attacks!

Warning: Spoilers
A somewhat entertaining and self-aware in a humorous manner, guest starring two Indian actors: Yadav Ganatra as Nikhil Prasad and Kiran Sonia Sawar as Alisha Prasad. There is an element of Mars Attacks! In this episode The Fire in the Sky, and especially with Kembleford freaking out over an alien attack they think with lights and all.

Nick Dunning, who plays, William Bayley has an eerie resemblance to a former prime minister of the United Kingdom. Anyway the themes of desertion played out here, with Father Brown being somewhat forgiving. Anyway, The Fire in the Sky is worth watching once init.

The Fire in the Sky

An alien invasion mystery. William Bayley chases his daughter Charlotte through the woods near his house. However he sees peculiar vision and collapses. Charlotte is later taken to hospital and she is pregnant. The young gardener visits her in hospital but her angry father asks him to leave.

Later in the evening William Bayley again has visions of aliens and his dead body is found. The young gardener is the main suspect. The villagers of Kembleford are concerned with UFOs but Father Brown thinks the mystery has more to do with poisonous plants and a young boy's interest in science fiction comics.

A slightly convoluted episode with the 1950s sci fi vibe but not one of the stronger stories.

Poorly done

Bad acting and even worse directing. The characters are flat and stereotypical of this subject matter. Oh and look new woke cast. Mar McCarthy is over the top as usual.
