Nice ideas but execution is lacking

The story starts out just like Disney's Cinderella : there is a royal ball, Cinderella is forbidden to go by the evil step mother, she is helped by her mice friends, gets magical help and goes to the ball. But the prince turns out to be an imposter, while the real prince is under a curse, that Cinderella decides to help to break.

The idea is nice, but the execution is not great. The pace of the action scenes feels off, the scenes go from slow to big action to slow again without warning, which is the biggest problem for me. I wasn't surprised by the plot twists but I suppose kids will be. And finally the ending is really abrupt, it left me with a feeling that the movie was incomplete. Not because the situation the characters are in is dissatisfying but the narration is really bad and makes it seem worse than it is.

Overall, the story had potential but the final product is not as good as it could have been.

Don't touch the original story

Cinderella with a twist

You all know the story of Cinderella as its been told countless times. A young maiden living with her stepmother and ugly stepsisters wins the heart of a prince at the ball,she loses a glass slipper,prince finds it and both the maiden and the prince live happily ever after.

Well in this version it's just like this except for one tiny detail,the prince. The prince in this version is transformed into one of Cinderella's mice and the actual prince in the Palace isn't a prince but an imposter. Will Cinderella find the real prince before it's too late?. Overall the animation isn't that bad,and the story is OK.

Poor Quality

Very poor animation marrs this film and coupled with amateurish voice over-acting, dingy backgrounds and ugly models makes it a difficult and unenjoyable watch. Don't bother.

I checked out the profiles of the other 'people' who reviewed this movie and all joined 4 months ago (from the date I am writing this) and all have only reviewed one movie. Don't believe what they have written, they're fake.

Very dark movie, not for kids or adults

Took my 3 year old daughter to see this movie, and it was a huge dissapointment.

1. Very dark, the "color" and mood of the movie is dark, usually kid movies have bright, happy colors or mood. It also contains a lot of spells and "witchiness", more than you would usually see. My daughter was scared (1st time ever, and we have seen over 10 movies with her), we had to leave before it ended

2. This movie was made for 3D view, we saw it 2D, and it looked like a video you would get in the story of a videogame. Terrible.

3. The story is different, which it does not mean is bad, but it wasn't as interesting as the Cinderella story everyone knows.

4. Is not funny, is not happy and it doesn't make you feel good.

Do not waste your money.

It's Maleficent + Princess & Frog + Cinderella. Look like studio doesn't have enough guts to make a new story and decide to ruin the original instead.

Terrible story

I can't believe so many reviews say this is a "good story." It's dreadful and shouldn't be associated with Cinderella. Maybe it would have been better if they just wrote a completely new story instead of butchering a re-write of a classic. Oh, and it's scary too, my 4yo twin girls were scared by this movie. Ridiculous.

My two year old liked this, but she's an idiot. Horrible, horrible, horrible animation. What did they spend the $20 million budget on? It's difficult to say anything too bad about the actors when all they had was this terrible script to work with, but they were also poor.

It is good if you want to keep a two year old occupied for an hour and a half.

I took my two daughters to watch the film and they all told me that they like the film, espeically the cinematography and the charater personaliy. the costumes just wow and when the music starts, my two daughters feel amazed and excited,keeping telling me it is gorgeous. But for a mom, I like the main idea of it. when the princess finds the prince caght in the trouble and she goes and saves the prince, I really hope my daughter can become brave as her. Well done!

Different Cinderella story but it still works.

When I started to watch this animation, I didn't have that much high hope. I thought it was just another nonsense story and the animation would be just fine because it wasn't from Disney, DreamWorks or such American big animation companies. But within five minutes, I realised that I was wrong.

This animation is a remake version of the famous Cinderella story. But it's really different from the original story. They changed the story a bit. People are angry because they changed the story. (To those people, what I wanna say is that haven't you seen the other films based on the Cinderella story? They also changed the plot. If you want to angry, angry at those ones too.) That wasn't their fault. If the animation has the same story, who will watch their animation? And also Disney might not happy. So, I understand why they changed the plot.

The story is not that bad. It's quite good and enjoyable. But it's a bit predictable. Even me, I predicted three scenes and it turned out exactly what I predicted. If the plot is unpredictable, it'd be better.

The animation is quite good too. I was surprised to see how good the animation is. As I've said in above, it wasn't from American big animation companies such as Disney or DreamWorks (and etc.), So, I was so surprised to see how they could make such a great animation, especially, when I saw at the end of credits that it was produced by a Chinese company. I was indeed so amazed.

The other thing I like is the original score. The music and the song are so good. I totally love it. Because of it, I think the animation is better and better. The end credit song is so good. I totally love that song.

The voice actings are basically fine. But sometimes, I don't like Ella's acting. I feel like in some scenes, it needs something. So, if there's no such thing that makes me feel that kind of feeling, it'd be the best.

One thing I don't like is that this one isn't a completed one. I think they are planning to produce a sequel. If not, I'd say they should put some scenes where the prince turns into human again and his marriage with Ella, those kind of scenes.

All in all, although people are giving low rates and bad reviews, as for me, it's kind of enjoyable. It was totally worth spending time.

The story is beaten, however, fluffy, the re-reading, although very affectionate, is more of the same, it may be that for the little ones it is more charming than for us big guys saturated with these redesigned classic tales that fall into sameness... Regular...

A Interesting and modern Adaption of the Classic Story

My husband and I took our daughters to watch this movie cause we think every little girl should have a princess dream! I think this movie is good for:

1. it gives the audience a fabulous and fancy fairytale, sweet not only to my girls, but also to me. Just felt so sweet and happy when watching the fancy ball and the romantic dance on the grassland!

2. I think it's a more mordern interpretation of the story. Really like the idea of Cinderella saving her prince! This film taught my girls to be brave and independent, as a boy while still being a princess.

Like it! Really should give it a shot!

I have to say, for the current animation films industry, a lot of IP have been over-used. This film is the same and it uses the IP of Cinderella, but the reason why it interests me is that it presents a completely different Cinderella. it gives some much-needed chemistry to Cinderella's and the prince's romantic charm, and I must say, it works for me. There is one line still impressed in my mind, I am going to save him. Yeah! why not ! old IP, but new plot !!!!! I like it !

I watch this in the cinema with no parents accompanied since I am so addicted to Cinderella things. I have to admit that,I really like this film. Cinderella looks so beautiful and cute in the pink dress and so brave when she decides to save the prince. it makes me think deeper that why should girls wait to be saved when getting into trouble, we should save ourselves and even save others when necessary. in general, this is a nice film with deep meanings to explore. PS: Is Cinderella's dress available in the online/ concrete shops? I am such a big fan !!!!!!!!

My grand daughter keeps watching over and over. She actually love it more than Disney story, She is only 3 years old and its hard to find story what she would finish watching from beginning to the end, and this story she keep watching. Thank you for making such a beautiful movie.

I haven't watched it, but my two children aged 6 1/2 and 5 liked it a lot. They asked to see it again and again over several weeks. The adults who wrote reviews about this movie maybe should have a child see it first, after all it is meant for children, right?

Great but could've improved better

I really liked the movie. It was an adventure from the beginning to the end. Not to mention the characters were great too. But I definitely think there could've been room for improvement. Like knowing Manny and Walt's names early in the movie instead of just the credits. It would also be nice if the witch had a proper name to refer to. Also it would've been nice to learn more about her and Crystal's past. Also it would've been helpful to learn where Olaf came from exactly and learn more about his past and know if he really wanted to be part of the witch's plan or not. Cause to me, it wasn't exactly clear enough. Also at the end, I can't exactly tell if Olaf is dead or not. It would've been nice to know what happened to him exactly.

But TBH, I'm really glad that this movie will have a sequel. I mean at first at the time when I was afraid there wasn't going to be a sequel, when Crystal said that there's another way to break the spell at the end of the movie, I thought that it was enough to know there is hope for both them and us, and that everything will be okay for everyone even though we won't see it. But I was wrong. We will get to see what happens next and I'm looking forward to seeing it. And when that happens, I do hope we'll get what I said above: Hearing Manny and Walt's names, learning more about Crystal and the witch's past, and maybe even learn more about Olaf.

Also I don't know if it could ever happen, but it would be awesome if possibly a crossover movie between Cinderella and The Academy of Magic mainly because there are some characters that look alike each other. Alex and Shawn, Crystal and Susan. Not to mention Walt made a cameo appearance in The Academy of Magic. If this ever happened, it would really great to see.

In general the story and the quality is alright, good target for young girls. My daughter likes the fat mouse pretty much. And it does have the comedic effect. But if you are looking for sth like the disney it cannot be.
