For those unfamiliar with Tubi, they are a completely free streaming service which has an absolutely ridiculous selection of films, many of which offered in high quality high-definition transfers. For those not in the know, they are also one of the services that pays filmmakers the best and are very open to smaller budget films. They do present the films with ads, but that is a small price to pay for a great selection of fun films. Scrolling their offerings by genre is also the closest one can get to the video store experience of yesteryears. Here’s a list of five fun action movies on Tubi, kind of like a “Staff Suggestions” section at your local Mom & Pop video store.

Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror, who played, respectively, the heavies Killa and Chidi in John Wick 4, will reunite in the upcoming action film Diablo.
Chilean director Ernesto Díaz Espinoza, known for such action films as The Fist of the Condor and Redemer, is set to direct Diablo from a screenplay by Mat Sansom. Diablo is being set up as a co-production between Film Mode Entertainment and Wonder Street, with Film Mode handling foreign sales, and collaborating with Wonder for domestic. The filmmakers will hold a buyers presentation for the project in Cannes on May 15.
Adkins will play Kris Chaney, a recently released ex-convict embarking on a perilous mission. He kidnaps Elisa, the daughter of a powerful gangster, which puts him in danger. Zaror will portray El Corvo, a psychopathic killer seeking revenge against Vincent’s family.
Diablo is currently in pre-production and will shoot Chile, the home country of Zaror and Espinoza.

Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was given a nine day theatrical release in the US back in February, and now it has received a digital release! Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is available for rent or purchase on Amazon’s Prime Video at This Link.
A.A. Milne’s 1926 children’s book Winnie-the-Pooh and the characters in it lapsed into the public domain at the start of last year, and that’s how Frake-Waterfield was able to make this movie happen, no permission required. The filmmaker explained to Variety that Pooh and Piglet (go) on a rampage after being abandoned by a college-bound Christopher Robin. “Christopher Robin is pulled away from them, and he’s not [given] them food, it’s made Pooh and Piglet’s life quite difficult. With John Wick: Chapter 4 exploding at the box office and Donnie Yen experience a new wave of popularity in North American, now’s the time to look at another of the movie’s stars who’s been around for a long time but is consistently underrated. Of course, that man is the great Scott Adkins! Those who know him, love him. With over 70 movies to his credit, the man has been in at least one thing everyone has seen, from Doctor Strange to X-Men Origins: Wolverine (as Weapon X), The Pink Panther, and so many more, He has been in something for everyone. For us, the highlights of his career are not necessarily the obvious titles when glancing at his resume.
Here are our some of our favorite Scott Adkins movies:
The Expendables 2 (2012)
Admittedly not as good as the first film, The Expendables 2 did bring a few good villains to the screen.

The “John Wick” franchise has a reputation for razzle-dazzle filmmaking and serving as demo reels for some of the world’s finest – or at least most promising – action movie stars. “John Wick: Chapter 4” is no exception, with Donnie Yen taking center stage alongside franchise star Keanu Reeves, as Hiroyuki Sanada and Marko Zaror lend prestige and support. Bringing the opposite of “prestige,” at least in terms of the role he plays in the Chad Stahelski-directed actioner, is Scott Adkins.
Adkins has made a name for himself as one of the preeminent filmmakers in the world of direct-to-consumer (DVD/VOD/streaming/etc.) action movies. The likes of Adkins, Michael Jai White, Tony Jaa, Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren hold court in low-budget genre flicks helmed by directors like Isaac Florentine, Jesse V. Rhys Frake-Waterfield is plotting a horror cinematic universe based on beloved children’s story characters that are in the public domain. He was the director of the recently released Winnie-the-Pooh horror movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (read our review Here), and he’s in development on movies like Bambi: The Reckoning and Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare. Since these characters are public domain, he doesn’t have to ask anyone’s permission to put a horrific twist on their stories. But if copyright wasn’t an issue, Frake-Waterfield would also like to make horror movies featuring characters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Teletubbies.
Speaking with Collider, Frake-Waterfield said, “I’ve really been excited by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lately because I think the story has a very kind of horrifying undertone anyway because it’s these half-human, half-turtles who live in the sewer who have a rat king who they follow,...

Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey will be getting a nine day theatrical release though Fathom Events in the US on February 15th – and not only is there already a sequel in the works, but Frake-Waterfield has also confirmed that all of the horror movies he’s making based on public domain characters from children’s stories (including Bambi: The Reckoning and Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare) exist within the same cinematic universe, which will allow for crossovers down the line!
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Frake-Waterfield said, “The idea is that we’re going to try and imagine they’re all in the same world, so we can have crossovers. People have been messaging saying they really want to see Bambi versus Pooh.“

Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey will be getting a nine day theatrical release though Fathom Events in the US on February 15th – but a couple weeks away from that date, Frake-Waterfield has revealed that he’s already working on a sequel! And while developing the follow-up, he’s drawing inspiration from last year’s indie hit Terrifier 2…
Speaking with SFX Magazine (we send our thanks out to Games Radar for spreading the word), Frake-Waterfield said that he had Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Wrong Turn on his mind while he was crafting Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. “And as we’re going into the sequel soon, Terrifier 2 is going to be one of my key reference points. I want to make sure I go as big and epic as they went with that. I want to try and push it even more.

The Last Heist opens with Mick talking to his son Slips telling him he doesn’t want him following in his footsteps. And that he has an “insurance policy” to help prevent that from happening.
In the next scene, we’re at his funeral. He went to the grave with the nature of that policy still a secret. But Slips believes it’s stashed in a safe deposit box his father kept under an alias. With no other options, he pulls his old crew, Waldorf, Prozac and Fisherman (Ricky London) together for what should be the last heist they’ll need to pull off.
Director Coz Greenop and writers Michael Head and Lucinda Royden don’t structure The Last Heist as a straightforward bank robbery film.

"There's a gaggle of assassins about to turn up!" Goldwyn Films has revealed the official US trailer for an action comedy sequel titled Accident Man: Hitman's Holiday. It's the second movie after the original Accident Man in 2018, directed by Jesse V. Johnson, bringing back Adkins as the "accident man" in the title. Scott Adkins returns as Mike Fallon, a tough hitman who makes his hits look like accidents or suicide. The Accident Man is back again and this time he must fight all the top assassins to protect the ungrateful son of a mafia boss, save the life of his only friend, and rekindle his relationship with his maniacal father figure. Sounds wild! In addition to Adkins, the cast includes Ray Stevenson, Perry Benson, Sarah Chang, Flaminia Cinque, Faisal Mohammed, Peter Lee Thomas, and Beau Fowler as "Poco The Killer Clown". This does look ridiculous in a self-aware way, and...

A.A. Milne’s 1926 children’s book Winnie-the-Pooh and the characters in it lapsed into the public domain at the start of this year – and as soon as that happened, writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield was right there to take advantage of their public domain status. Last Friday, Netflix released a fun vampire slayer action flick called Day Shift (you can read our 7/10 review Here)… and if you watched the movie, you may have noticed that it had a goofy end credits song called “Mowing Down Vamps”, which built a tune around a line spoken by the character played by Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist). The song around Franco’s line was performed by The Bsb Boys (J Young Mdk and Sam Pounds) alongside the film’s star Jamie Foxx (Spider-Man: No Way Home) – and now Foxx has released a video for the song.
The music video, directed by Taylor Chien, features Foxx, Franco, some vampire fights, and a good dose of silliness. You can check it out at the bottom of this article.

Dolph Lundgren made his name as a physically imposing '80s action hero, but he has been carving out a unique second career for himself, largely with roles in movies like "Aquaman" and "Creed II." And he's also taking an eye towards directing more, resulting in his most recent project, a heist/action flick titled "Castle Falls." This movie unites him with one of cinema's current premier action stars, Scott Adkins. While he may not be a household name, action aficionados are certainly familiar with his work, which ranges from "Accident Man" to smaller parts in major blockbusters like "Doctor...

I’m guessing that the fact Bennett was on UK screens as part of World of Sport wrestling And had a huge name presence thanks to his former WWE career didn’t hurt either.

Action superstar Dominiquie Vandenberg and acclaimed filmmaker Jesse V. Johnson, director of Triple Threat and Accident Man, team for 2020’s most explosive action blockbuster – The Mercenary. As a big fan of Triple Threat, I'm happy to hear that director Jesse V. Johnson's The Mercenary is coming soon to DVD and Digital. A new trailer reinforces the feeling. To quote myself: "Over the past couple of years, I've watched and enjoyed Johnson's Savage Dog (2017), Accident Man (2018), and The Debt Collector (2018), which established his credentials as a card-carrying member of the 'action first, talk whatever' club of filmmaking." Triple Threat did not disappoint. Dominiquie Vandenberg (Triple Threat) stars in The Mercenary as Maxx, "a legionnaire turned mercenary," according to the official synopsis. "When a mission in South America goes wrong Maxx is left for dead, but he...

Last week Scott Adkins took to the red carpet with his cast to premiere revenge thriller Avengement in London. Adkins has made quite a name for himself in the action movie arena, and Avengement is his latest brutal outing. Acting as producer as well as star, Adkins has gathered a decent cast around him here, including Thomas Turgoose, Nick Moran, Craig Fairbrass, Beau Fowler, Kierston Wareing and Louis Mandylor.
We have interviews with Adkins and Turgoose from the carpet of the Stratford East Picturehouse where they talk about developing the new movie. They talk about strength of story and character development as well as impactful action, and why it’s important to make these films here in the UK.
Avengement Premiere Interviews
Synopsis
While granted leave from prison, a lowly criminal evades his guards and returns to his old haunts to take revenge on the people that made him a cold hearted killer.

Writer/director Jesse V. Johnson and actor Scott Adkins have developed a very interesting creative relationship over the past two years. Working in the largely ignored realm of "straight to video” film releases, the duo has put together a string of meagerly budgeted action films that have impressed critics and fans of action cinema in equal measure with their quality. If their films like Savage Dog, Accident Man, and The Debt Collector had been released in the 1990s it would have not seemed out of place to see them on a marquee beside films like Under Seige or Sudden Death and they likely would have been financially successful crowd pleasures as well. The films made by the duo are a throwback to a simpler style...

Watch an exclusive trailer for Triple Threat, a new martial arts movie that puts Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, and Scott Adkins onscreen together.
Forget The Expendables. The team you want to be on is the one in which Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Scott Adkins, and more are throwing high-flying fisticuffs. That is certainly the very amusing appeal of Triple Threat, a new VOD and limited release cinematic event that brings some of 21st century cinema’s best martial artists together for an action movie spectacle.
The film, which is directed by Jesse V. Johnson (a former stuntman on films like Thor and The Amazing Spider-Man) is about a group of mercenaries going head to head with a group of assassins. May the best roundhouse kick win. The synopsis is below:

Not all comic-book movies have to be about superheroes… or heroes at all for that matter. Case in point: Accident Man. Originally debuting in a series of comic strips in the 90s UK comic Toxic!, Accident Man was created by Pat Mills and Tony Skinner – two legends of the UK comics scene who, beside this character, penned stories or Judge Dredd and ABC Warriors. In fact Mills is one of creators of 2000Ad, a British institution that has already seen success outside of the comics realm, with numerous video games based on characters within its pages and not one but two Judge Dredd movies!

The UK comics scene in the 80s was a mixture of playground larks, smart alec troublesome kids, weekly toy advertisements, immaculate footballers and wartime nostalgia. It was boom time for the Beanos, Dandys and many more Saturday morning doormat slappers. But there was a change coming, and spurred on by the noxious odour of Viz and the dystopian adult themes of 2000Ad a new breed of comics came of age in the final decade of the twentieth century.
These new comics catered for kids who had grown up with Dennis the Menace and were ready for something a bit more mature. 1991 was the fateful year, when the Fleetway backed Crisis was joined by 2000Ad man Kevin Mills teaming up with Apocalypse Ltd to bring Toxic! to newspaper shops across the UK. Though these comics didn’t last as long as those whose pages they sat alongside they were potent enough...

As you’re no doubt well aware, comic book movies are all the rage these days. While we still get the odd dud, the genre continues going from strength to strength and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is at the forefront of that right now.
However, while we all know who characters like Captain America, Spider-Man, and The Hulk are from our childhoods, there are a lot of comic books out there you probably haven’t heard of. The question is, do you know which of your favourites movies are based on them?

There's something quintessentially British about Mike Fallon, the high-class hitman at the center of Pat Mills' original Accident Man comic series from the early 90's. Orderly, deliberate and vicious, the character is like Jame Bond's sociopathic brother that everyone figures is a bit mad but no one can prove it. I don't know what that says about 15-year-old Scott Adkins, who discovered the character and fell in love with him, but Fallon has stayed with the action star until now when he's been able to realize his dream of bringing him to life on screen. Equally British in tone, Accident Man the movie feels at one with Guy Ritchie's wise guy movies as funny as they are thrilling. I had a chance to speak with...

Actor and Martial Artist Scott Adkins is no stranger to comic book movies, with him making appearances in both X Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and more recently Doctor Strange (2016). Both films didn’t exactly use Adkins to their advantage, with his role in X Men Origins: Wolverine being no more than a glorified stuntman, filling in for actor Ryan Reynolds when required. Doctor Strange at least gave the audience a chance to see Adkins face, but other than this, his role was just another in a line of henchman that lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch has to defeat throughout the film. If nothing else, at least these films gave Adkins a chance to work in more mainstream fare. Thankfully, Adkins own comic book vehicle, Accident Man...

Film multi-hyphenate Jesse V. Johnson's (upcoming Accident Man and Triple Threat) long-awaited modern-day Romeo & Juliet gangster thriller, The Beautiful Ones, has seen a raft of accolades and wins in the last few years and one only wondered since what would become of its U.S. release. Gravitas Ventures answered that question with its acquisition back in Feburary and even moreso in the past few weeks with its own trailer...in color. Not black and white. Not the version upon which reporters like myself have been giving this movie glowing reviews over. Nope. This one, depressingly color corrected and its entire aesthetic and creative value nearly completely undone at best; if you saw the earlier black and white version of the film, you might understand as that particular color treatment...

Moussi has been working in stunts for years, doubling for the likes of Henry Cavill, Aaron Eckhart and recently Hugh Jackman in this year’s X-Men: Apocalypse, but Kickboxer has given him not only the chance to play his first lead role, but to act alongside several of his childhood heroes. There’s also the benefit that two sequels have already been greenlit and are under production already, so here’s hoping Moussi’s first franchise shines a light on his burgeoning talent.
