I thought last weeks episode was foul ....I guess I was wrong as the SNL writers stooped even lower this week

This episode 42.7 will unfortunately be the last episode I will be reviewing on SNL's weekly (lack of any) comedy that used to regularly wow us back in the 1970's and 1980's. Well, Adam Baldwin returned to SNL this week (after a one week hiatus even though Donald Trump won the electoral vote for President of the U.S.A.) to characterize Donald Trump after winning the U.S. election for the Republican party.

Now if you had been watching the first five (5) episodes of SNL's season 42 you would have witnessed each week the writers having a field day with Adam Baldwin playing Donald Trump, Republican candidate, and the hilarious Kate McKinnon doing a fabulous portrayal of Hillary Clinton the Democratic candidate. I have yet to see Kate McKinnon do anything but great comedy which is why she won an Emmy this past year for her multitude of roles she has played on SNL during the past few years. But lo and behold Kate McKinnon has not appeared these past two weeks in her familiar role of Hillary Clinton. For anyone in the world who has either not watched SNL, or the CNN 24 hour news station the past 18 months it was quite evident that the Republican candidate Donald Trump was portrayed as nothing but a joke compared to how they portrayed the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. On many occasions you would hear one of Hillary's famous quotations "When they go low....We go high" Well in this the seventh (7th) episode of the 42nd season Kate Mckinnon's portrayal of Hillary Clinton was AGAIN a no show.

As I stated in my review of last weeks episode six (6) I can imagine quite a few skits that would have been hilarious such as the following:

Skit 1. Hillary finally holding her first open forum press conference in which she answers the questions she has been avoiding the past year.

Skit 2. Donald announcing the members of his full cabinet played by various SNL regulars. (I would love to see a Rudy Guliani imitation.)

Skit 3. Donald and Melania moving into the White House and finding Barcak and Michelle refusing to move out...as well as Hillary and Bill already had moved their furniture in to the White House.

Skit 4. As protests were being held across the USA, the protesters were declaring their dissatisfaction with President elect Trump and I would have loved to have seen Kate McKinnon declaring Hillary's famous quotation in reverse "When they go high...we go lower"

Skit 5. Donald fulfills his pledge to build a wall to keep the Mexicans out...only he builds the wall just all around the White House.

Skit 6. Donald Trump greeting Mitt Romney in the White House. Wait a minute... the writers actually included this skit but the meeting was nothing more than an extended hand shake. The hand shaking lasted so long that if they had been shaking another lower part of each others anatomy they probably would have ended up giving each other a "happy ending". Because I certainly wasn't laughing at this lame scene.

Sadly, any opportunity for great comedy writing that would have included Kate McKinnon in even just one little skit portraying Hillary Clinton as the sore loser that the world knows her to be would have generated more positive reviews of a balanced SNL comedy episode 42.7. Heck even with the likes of Kristen Wiig hosting, and cameo appearances by Steve Martin and Will Forte I just kept shaking my head that with all the negative skits SNL portrayed Donald Trump through episodes 1 through 5, and placing such a positive spin on Hillary Clinton, why the SNL writers could not take advantage of such a lopsided win and portray Hillary and Bill Clinton maybe having dinner with Vladimir Putin discussing the future 2020 U.S. election would have been very funny.

Hey SNL, if you are looking for any new writers leaning a bit more to the middle I am available.
