With respect to Sheehan, Irving tells Bosch to "Take the whole 48 hours." The 48-Hour Rule derives from the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in County of Riverside v. McLaughlin(1991). That case provides that when a person is arrested without a warrant, a probable cause determination must be made without unreasonable delay and cannot occur more than 48 hours after arrest. The time period for the 48 hours begins at the time of the arrest.
Watch Commander Mankewizc was named after John Mankewicz who was writing on "House of Cards" during season one and joined "Bosch" in the 4th season.
The opposing viewpoints on display between Bosch and Robertson in the task force room scene illustrate how detectives always investigate with a keen eye on how well their cases will hold up at trial, anticipating strengths as well as how the defense will expose weaknesses.
Boardner's was built in 1942. "Bosch" has filmed at the North Cherokee Avenue bar a number of times dating back to the first season, and it serves as the location for a scene with Robertson and Snyder in episode 409.
The exterior scenes at the scrap yard were filmed at SA Recycling located in East Los Angeles.
