"Bridge of Sleep" is Baraheni's free interpretation of Crime and Punishment, with some changes made. Regardless of the efforts made to present a didactic work, advising virtues, and warning against the consequences of vices, the movie fails to prevent the audience from sympathizing with the main character who seems to be an antihero.
