Quality series
agapeslj26 January 2020
The series is family friendly, well written, quality television. Each episode can stand alone with it's story line. The acting, writing, and production is well done and uplifting. The original movie and sequel had it's moments when it seemed a bit predictable and other moments when it seemed a little forced, but that is not the case at all with the series. Worth watching!

better than the movies
ccharlie18314 April 2018
I was reluctant to get pureflix to watch this but i don't regret it, the show is amazing, each episode is a self contained plot where someone encounters jesus while undoing hardships in their life, it's more moving than the Encounter movies, if you enjoyed the encounter movies you'll love this show even more. The production quality is really good and the acting is top notch for a christian series. Wish it was on dvd or blu-ray because i would rent it out to people at my family's video store.

Real Gospel Real Bible

The Encounter Series is THE BEST "Jesus" tv show ever! It does not showcase Christianity! It showcases JESUS.. I also the own the encounter movies which the show is based off of and seeing Bruce's portrayal as Christ just makes me cry a river... I own a few other movies of bruces! Alison's Choice, Come Follow Me, the road to Emmaus, and couple others... Ive said this before and I'll say it again... Bruce is the best "tv Jesus" and THE WORLD needs to watch his movies and shows, and see JESUS in his performance... You'll forget that it Bruce and you'll actually feel the presence of Jesus in your home.. PLEASE PUREFLIX HURRY UP WITH A BLURAY RELEASE

Revelation!

Warning: Spoilers
So much revelation in every episode especially in season two crosshairs episode! My God! "He had to stay injured in order to survive..." I'm so thankful for this type of entertainment in the midst of such corruption and taunted shows and movies. The entire series is definitely worth watching if you're trying to figure life all out.

INCREDIBLE. EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED RIGHT NOW.... NEEDS 10 SEASONS
multiplayerxgesource13 April 2020
On a par with Highway to Heaven and Touched By An Angel. This series took way too long to make it's Second Season. They should take a year off., MAKE. Take another year off , MAKE. At least for the next 5 years. No reason the christian community can't get involved and GOFUND this. Just a series masterpiece suitable for all ages. PERFECT.

Inspiring Family Show

I loved The Encounter movie, and the series is just as good. Each episode has a solid plot where someone is facing trouble or a turning point in their life, and Jesus appears in the flesh to help them through. The series is scripturally sound, and very entertaining.

Encountering "The Encounter" series...
pdactyl-914028 April 2020
After watching The Encounter (original movie), and The Encounter: Paradise Lost and enjoying both, I was really looking forward to this series. It didn't disappoint. I really enjoy it Bruce Marchiano's modern-day portrayal of Jesus. He is warm and friendly, and gives a loving touch to the relationship Jesus Christ desires to have with each one of us. I binge-watched the first season, then had to wait for each new episode of the second season to come out! I look forward to each new episode...and only wish there were more episodes to a season!

Extremely relevant and desperately needed syndication
multiplayerxgesource25 January 2020
A true masterpiece of storytelling and inspiration. The movies and this series portray God in the most perfect way possible. He does not need us we need Him and he proves this by allowing us to create our own failed destinies and plans to show us He has the better one. Just brilliant. This show needs 20 seasons

Pureflix, please stop
marma-643319 March 2020
On a Pureflix page, they compare this to "Touched By An Angel," which is just plain blasphemy. That show had great writing with actual depth, authenticity, and good production value. This... immature writing and sub par production. Flat, uninspired, no nuance - it's like a student film. Why, why, why do they keep doing this? Why, why, why does the audience keep watching? They've conditioned people to accept such bad quality. Please, Christian viewers, demand more. This won't reach a single non believer and it only lends to the view that Christians are bad filmmakers. They should be better than mainstream. That's the only way to reach beyond the walls of the church.

Great Christian film
thedills-3395113 April 2020
It's an awesome approach to Think about how The Holy Spirit interacts with us and to see how Jesus sometimes intervenes in our every day lives. I LOVE the actor who plays Jesus. Full of joy and love. It's a neat take on experiencing the "interruption" of Jesus in our lives. Definitely give it a watch. Plus the tv series!

Does Jesus show up to answer our prayers?
grrogers5512 October 2022
Uh, to answer the question in the Title of my review, YES He does, but not in the flesh as when His disciples and the other 500 persons saw Him after His resurrection. No, often He shows up in the person of one of His children. And there are times where people encounter angels unawares. An angel may even be a homeless man on the street begging at the corner. But Jesus said that when you help "the least of these my brethren, you've done it unto me."

So often we pray, "LORD help me" to get me this girl or guy or job, or to heal us or someone we love. And we think He never, or rarely, responds.

What these movies and the series show us is that He DOES respond but not always the way we THINK He should!!! In The Encounter many of life's ups and, mostly, downs are dealt with and even when we do NOT pray He sets things in motion to bring us to a decision: eternal life or death

So many of us are angry with God because He didn't answer our prayer the way we wanted and so our loved one dies or becomes an invalid or becomes estranged to us or we lose our job or employment prospect or we get bad news that we are gonna die (SPOILER ALERT: we are ALL gonna die, and most of us don't get a warning by some doctor!!!)... And some of us turn that "unanswered" prayer into anger and hatred or indifference and become skeptics like Darwin or Dawkins and do all in their power to discredit faith in God! (FYI I was angry God "took" my mom when I was a young boy. Thankfully I didn't stay that way!)

But, one must remember that God is not a genie in a bottle who responds to our wishes because we rubbed the bottle! In fact, some of us have rubbed HIM the wrong way and we expect Him to respond favorably to our prayer anyway!

Our prayers are always answered whether we are His followers or not! If you're not His child the answer is ALWAYS "no", unless you are repenting and seeking Him in earnest. If you ARE His child, then prayers asked in line with His Will will be answered according to His design. One MUST trust Him, not self, and certainly not one's own understanding and "reason"! Remember He doesn't OWE you anything! (You owe HIM!) If you are His child but behaving badly, don't expect a favorable answer, but instead expect a spanking for a father who doesn't correct His children "hates" them.

If you know God's Word, you know what I am saying is true.

This series of movies and episodes deals with much of this. They are well done, though I admit I am not a pro critic. I am and avid movie watcher though. And, as you may have guessed, Jesus made ME a believer and not because of some miracle, but because of His LOVE, wholly undeserved by me!

A God-Sent Gem of Television

For those seeking a powerful testament to faith, look no further than the 2016 TV series, Encounter. This remarkable show weaves together the lives of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, showcasing the transformative power of Jesus Christ and the enduring values of Christianity.

From the outset, Encounter invites us into a world where faith is more than just words; it's a tangible force shaping the lives of its characters. We witness the unwavering strength of a pastor leading his flock through adversity, the unwavering devotion of a young couple facing an impossible challenge, and the heartwarming generosity of a community banding together in times of need.

But Encounter goes beyond simply portraying Christian values. It actively celebrates them, highlighting the beauty and resilience of a life grounded in faith. We see characters choosing forgiveness over anger, love over hatred, and hope over despair, all while relying on the unwavering love and guidance of Jesus Christ.

One of the show's greatest strengths is its ability to connect with viewers on a personal level. The characters, with their flaws and struggles, feel real and relatable, drawing us into their stories and prompting reflection on our own lives. Encounter challenges us to confront our own beliefs, to examine our priorities, and ultimately, to embrace the transformative power of faith.

But it's not all heavy drama and introspection. Encounter interweaves moments of humor and lightheartedness, reminding us that joy is also a part of the Christian experience. We laugh alongside the characters, share in their triumphs, and celebrate their victories, all while feeling the warmth of community and the unwavering presence of God's love.

In today's world, where cynicism and negativity often dominate the media landscape, Encounter stands as a beacon of hope and positivity. It offers a refreshing reminder of the power of faith, the importance of traditional values, and the transformative impact of Jesus Christ on our lives.

It is not simply a TV series; it's an experience, a journey of faith that leaves you feeling uplifted, inspired, and closer to God than ever before. If you're seeking a show that will not only entertain but also nourish your soul, then Encounter is a must-watch. So, gather your loved ones, open your hearts, and prepare to be touched by the beauty and power of faith in action.
