I didn't make it all the way through the dreary third season, but I thought hey, might as well just take a peek and see if somehow the series has course corrected.
It hasn't. You're the Worst is no longer a comedy. Now it's some sort of soap-operish dramedy that focuses on characters and relationships and angst with very little in the way of actual, you know, jokes.
This isn't that uncommon. I've seen other series that fell so in love with the conflicts of their characters that they threw away much of what was great about the series to begin with (Girlfriends is a prime example).
Look, soap operas are fine. But if you start making a comedy, *keep* *making* *a* *comedy*. How hard can that be? The Simpsons has been doing it for about 200 years.
