The terror.....of the unknown.

Captain Crozier is now in full control, and learning the for that stalks the crew is no ordinary beast.

I thought the opening was terrific, good to see how events are shaping up on land, very strong acting. The scene where the lashings are dished out had me wincing.

Hickey is very much the central character in this episode, he's one of the most interesting guys on the ship, he's so devious, so willing to do anything to get what he wants, only he has overestimated what The Captain wants from him.

It's a captivating watch. 8/10.

The show is still of a consistent quality at this point with very little to complain about. Tons of atmosphere building and regular death and doom all about gradually working its toll on the characters. Even the scenes back in Britain don't slow things down, so it's all good.

Punished, as a Boy

There are some gruesome scenes of the crew members attacked by the monster.

There is coroner's report made on one body with a part of the skull removed and the brain exposed. He believes that neither man nor bear is causing this.

There is a belief that Eskimo girl, Lady Silence is controlling the beast and Cornelius Hickey with several others capture her.

Captain Crozier orders a severe beating for Hickey and the crew are uneasy. There is also an outbreak of disease.

An element of hysteria has entered the ship, that is just another kind of horror as well as desperation. It leads to a witch hunt of Lady Silence.
