If I have a complaint about this show (maybe that's a strong word; quibble?) it's that the supporting cast is interchangeable. There are small character moments here and there, but nothing to help them stand out (like, knowing their names, for instance).
But as it stands, being all about the two main characters, it's pretty good. Alison Brie really throws herself into the hopeless Ruth; one minute spazzing out in the ring, the next minute hitting up her motel manager for help on honing her Russian. It's makes a funny juxtaposition to Debbie's ownership of the hero role.
7/10
