The Dusty Spur

I am really enjoying the Britannica character and I hope she gets more opportunities at some point, or a more featured spotlight.

This was another solid episode of the show though. We're starting to see all of the personalities of the women shine and that's such a great thing because too many shows try to box females into predictable roles. It's good to see GLOW embracing the uniqueness and three-dimensional qualities of its cast.

They got Brodus Clay for this...

...and I threw my mind. Because it is one thing they make a (high quality) show about wrestling, and another to see real wrestlers had faith in the project too. And later George Murdoch returns, and gets to teach us some moves.

With that aside, I think this was the point I realised this won't be some Rocky-copy, where they train and fight. It won't even just be some character-drama series with some sport-moments in every episode. I thought it would with all the training-camp business. But oh my, they were WOMEN, so their first thing to do was - sunbathing.

This show is about women, and wrestling, and dealing with what life gave us. Which reminds me the last episode...

Nurturing conflict

Warning: Spoilers
Sam's grand plan to fine-tune the girls' acts is shacking them up in a cheap Van Nuys motel. Not exactly Club Med. As such, I was expecting something funnier than this - but it was actually kinda nice. By episode's end, Ruth's gotten Sheila the Wolf to open up. And after both ladies are displaced from their quarters, relations between Debbie and Ruth might not be so frosty.
