Violence & Gore

  • Literally non-stop action throughout. The violence is very intense and sometimes brutal, graphic and gory. But it still isn't as graphic or gory as the second. The focus on the gore and guts isn't as strong in this movie. The fight scenes in "2" are still more graphic.
  • Multiple gunshot wounds, head shots.
  • John fights four men in an corridor filled with different types of bladed weapons.
  • John fights assassins in a stable, he uses the horses to his advantage by placing the assassins behind the horse and then slapping the animal, making it kick the killers. Blood spurts are seen.
  • A girl is seen removing a toenail. Blood is seen.
  • A man is shot in both his knees and is bitten in the penis. He screams in pain and we see blood spray from his penis and knees. Not too disturbing but blood is shown.
  • A huge shootout where two assassins fight through many henchmen. Blood sprays after each gunshot to the head and body.
  • A man cuts off his finger and the wound is cauterized.
  • A man gets branded on his back. He quickly shouts in pain.
  • A man fights off several motorcyclist while driving in high speeds.
  • A woman is stabbed through both her hands. Blood pours out.
  • A doctor stitches a stab wound on a mans shoulder shut halfway before the man over himself. Several close shots and grunts of pain.
  • Durning a fight scene we see a man slowly stab another man in the eye, we get a close up on the stabbing. (We see blood pour out) The whole scene is about 10 seconds long and is the most violent scene in the film.
  • John throws a hatchet into someone's head. Blood sprays behind the mans head.
  • During a fight scene, a man is stabbed in the head twice by John Wick.
  • Extremely violent, brutal, fast paced action.
  • The violence in this film is more extreme than in JW 1, 2 and 4.
  • Level of violence:10/10.
  • Rated R for strong bloody violence.

Profanity

  • 'Fuck' is said 4 times, including paired with 'mother' once.
  • 10 uses of shit.
  • 'Bitch' is said 2 times

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Only in the first ten minutes when John Wick visits a doctor, a stitch procedure is performed, and medicine is used, but that is all.
  • Winston drinks whiskey, brandy, and other liquor through the movie

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Constant intense action-violence.
  • There are multiple fight scenes, most of which last a long time. The film is more or less a fight, with a few breaks between
  • A dog is shot. However, it is wearing a bulletproof vest and is unharmed. We hear a brief yelp but the dog soon gets up and attacks the shooter.
  • A man is slowly stabbed in the eye, very brutal.
  • Very early on a man has his jaw brutally broken with a book and has his neck snapped shortly after.
  • Prolonged intense fighting and shooting sequences are expected. John Wick's life is in constant danger, so tense scenarios are expected.

Violence & Gore

  • John Wick fights a man at a library. They throw each other around and punch one another in the face multiple times. Eventually, John gets the upper hand and corners the man towards a wall. He puts a book in the man's mouth and repeatedly punches the book, he then twists the books which breaks the man's jaw. He finishes his opponent by putting the man's head on the side of a book and then punching him which breaks the man's neck. Brutal but not too bloody
  • A man get's slashed seven times with a sword. We see blood spray and he collapses. It is later revealed that he survived the attack.
  • A big shootout takes place at a hotel. Lots of guards gets shot with blood spraying. As they are wearing armor, they are all shot in their throats and in their eyes, which are their weak spots. The protagonist later switches to an shotgun with armor piercing rounds. When he uses this weapon, we see some guards getting their heads blown off. Somewhat gory
  • Two men fight each other with swords. Although they are first equals, one of the men gets the upper hand and slashes the other man several times. He then stabs him through the chest. The stabbed man later collapses and dies from the stab wound.
  • John Wick is shot in the chest and back four times. Although he is wearing a bulletproof vest, he falls off the building and is presumed dead. We see him falling and hitting various objects on the way down. He is revealed to have survived his fall minutes later.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The scene where Winston shoots John Wick out of the roof may be upsetting for some.
