This is kind of movie which everyone should watch, but no one watches. It shows the irony in a way as beautiful as it can be. Both actors have performed purely in depth. Despite the art that movie contains, it went a flop. Reason being the people that watch egg-headed comedies and leave breath-taking art, later on blaming the Indian cinema for not making good stuffs. India is at flaw because of Indians.

Dark wind

The film starts, the camera pans on a blind old man walking with a stick through the drought ridden Mahua region in Rajasthan. His son Mukund is a farmer and on heavy debt, the old man fears his son may commit suicide following the trend of his fellow farmers who were also in debt. Not a drop of rain,so many mouths to feed, the farmers are surrendering to their lives, not withstanding the pressure. The poor old man fears the outcome,so he tries to help his son by helping him to ease his debt load.
A bank loan recovery agent has traveled from flood prone regions of Orissa in the rough terrains of Mahua(Rajasthan) to earn commission by recovering money from the poor villagers by hook or by crook. The villagers refer him as "god of death".
Different fields, but paralyzed by same issue- climate change, global warming .Extreme weather conditions- drought, flood make their lives miserable. The first Indian film on climate change is an eye opener,it's a warning of something which is going to be catastrophic.
The rough terrains, dry fields shown is the reality and an unavoidable fate we are moving to.On the other hand the life-claiming floods .......nature is repaying us.
Sanjay Mishra(old man)-old,blind ,weak is painful to watch. He is so genuine in his role.Actually his character symbolizes the hapless condition of human against the wrath of nature,it will hurt to watch him but this is reality-the naked and harsh one.
Ranvir Shorey complements Sanjay Mishra .He is completely submerged in his character, refred by villagers as "god of death",he is shown remorseless in his job.Desperate to collect money but also himself in debt, the character is well written.
The camera works are extraordinary and adds more uneasiness in watching .
The film is an essential one and sadly due to "padmavat" controversy the film flew below the radar and hardly got any attention.

Not a normal entertaining movie in which you found a actor/actress, songs, drama etcectra etcectra.
A very impactful and depressing movie. It will blow your mind. You can just think really my life is challenging. This is the harsh truth of our so called modern India. The farmers are to be the most respected and irony is that the farmer suicide in India is worst and increasing every year. No any government show a prominent and long term solution for the farmer. Just make a propaganda only before the election. This tyoe of movie really deserves some honour.
The movie shows 2 sides of a farmer's life.A drought area of Rajasthan and flooded aream of Odisha also mentioned.
The movie also shows the problem and really a major problem of Climste change. Our government should have to take an effective and long term solution to conserve our environment.Hope for a better India.
Beautiful movie !

I actually loved the story and execution of the movie because it reminded me on Premchand's stories. I love Premchand and this movie is a great cinematic representation of rural life of india. Watch it and enjoy the movie and dont forget to appreciate the work of brilliant actors like sanjay mishra and ranveer shuri.

One film potrayes the horrors of climate change from 2 sides. One where there is no rain, others where there is cyclone and floods. Also the vecious cycle of loans and farmers suicide. All potrayed simultaneously in utmost synergy
Yes, It Is Depressing But Unfortunately It Is The Truth..!

We r working towards climate resilient technologies to counter danger posed by the climate change factors.
Importantly Kadvi Hawa is building the much required awareness among the fellow human beings as we are most of the time reckless about our own unsustainable actions towards the ecosystem..
must watch with family and kids..

This movie is truly an exact depiction of reality (in that particular area). One must watch this movie if he/she is a fan of realism.
It shows the struggles of individuals, it gives reasons to the actions of individuals, it shows Will of the individuals. Nothing is exaggerated.
My favourite part is when the teacher asks about number of seasons and the kid answers "two".
IT IS AS IT IS.
wake up n stop destroying nature

Kadvi Hava is a realistic film, shot on natural locations. Hats off to the director n cinematographer for their sincere efforts. Mishra as the concerned father n Shorey as the loan-recovery agent r superb. The movie shows how poor farmers r forced to take loans n how recovery agents hound them to pay up. Climate plays a crucial role in the film. A kid casually remarks that there r only two seasons, sardi n garmi. Baarish rarely occurs, hence he does not regard it as a season. It's high time we wake up n stop destroying nature. Rating 3.5/5.

Impactful and touching
BubbleBollywood21 December 2017
The film depends solidly for its, characterisation, encompassing songs and the camera edges. Every scene is so genuinely especially made that you feel the circumstance of the reckless agriculturists who are helpless for a significant long time, with their desires stuck on their yields and the atmosphere. While, the film unequivocally reasons out that the upsetting breezes have expected an indispensable part in forming these dull conditions, it doesn' t give us a reaction for why.
There are scenes that will touch you significantly and impact you to comprehend the extreme conditions that the agriculturists and villagers staying in drought apportioned domains encounter.
In conclusion, there are an over the top number of questions and no answers that will stream your psyche as the motion picture attracts to an end. A significantly genuine effort from the makers which justifies your possibility and thought.
Great movie with awareness and message.

Excellent portrayal of the situation

This is a Sanjay Mishra movie all the way, though Ranvir Shorey too plays his part well. Worried for his son, the father (Mishra) goes to any extent to ensure his son's safety and even collaborates with the ruthless debt recovery agent (Shorey) by sharing some vital information, on the condition that the recovery agent would not harass his son. The stark reality of the drought, the gloom all around due to lack of rains and the utter helplessness in he village due to this has been beautifully portrayed. The cinematography and art direction are of extremely high value and paints this gloomy scenario very beautifully.
Sanjay Mishra as a blind, old father worried for his son's life is so real that it is hard to imagine anyone else playing this role. The direction is powerful and keeps you bound to the movie, though it gets a little slow at times. That probably is the only reason why this is not a a 10-star movie for me.

kadvi Hawa will blow your mind

Different from mainstream Indian cinema this film brings the effect of global warming in a simple yet artistically subtle settings. Sanjay Mishra has done a brilliant job and Ranveer shoray is flawless. Sets looks realistic with attention paid to minute details. With a run time of just over 90 minutes, film keep you engaged even though ending is not very unpredictable which infact shows a great job done in editing and direction. I will recommend to anyone who is interested in what comes beyond formula based bollywood cinema.
A rare but stunning masterpiece

This movie is what is needed to underscore the importance of addressing climate change. This is particularly true for villages and remote areas of the world that are experiencing the aftermath of global warming. Either too much or rain or no rain. The price is being paid by poor farmers or laborers.
As always, an amazing acting by Sanjay Mishra and Ranvir Shorey not to mention by Tillotama Shome. Great story line and cinematography! Such movies must be sent as Academy Awards entries from Bollywood. This movie shows the true art of moviemaking to highlight a critical global issue. An extraordinary movie!!

A brilliant film depicting the reality of India, from corruption to farmer suicides, is a great attempt by the director.

Warning: Spoilers
It was great to see a comedian like Sanjay Mishra in a character that is so close to reality.
India is a country where the biggest industrialists run away abroad after lurking thousands of crores, but if the poor farmer takes it from a moneylender or bank on interest, if he takes close to 20k, which if he is not able to pay, then the bank will be harassed by the moneylenders. After he chooses the path of suicide, an attempt has been made to show such a burning issue in a brilliant way by the director in which he has also been successful, but alas, when I saw this film in the cinema hall, only 10 people were present.

A Hard Slap to the commercial makers

I know my review will not do justice to the movie, but here it is anyway
Movie explores tough life of the people of rural areas, specific to the middle India region where water is scarcely available for drinking, forget about irrigation.
Region is facing a drought like situation from many years now
This can be known from various scenes like the classroom scene when teacher asks about the type of seasons to one of his students.
Dried grasslands are shown regularly and
Financial problems of the villagers are also shown through few scenes.
Matter of farmers suicide is also brought up
Moral questions are also raised throughout the movie.
