What is going on in North Dakota truly seems uninteresting and tedious.

The main segment of the show was good in that President Kirkman is getting used to outwitting Sen. Bowman, who is becoming a major play, thorn and the political anti-hero. Angry at his surprise defeat of the gun legislation, Bowman tries to thwart Kirkman's 9th choice to fill the Supreme Court. His aide who helped him in this deserves much credit for the outmaneuvering but then she reveals a terrible secret to the President regarding her health.

Agent Welles, please make the North Dakota part of the story more enlightening.

Good Old North Dakota
Hitchcoc16 July 2019
The President is faced with the loss of a sitting Supreme Court because that Montana guy changes his mind. He has to come up with a second plan. Meanwhile, Wells is out in North Dakota (where, in the minds of the writers, nothing really exists). There is some kind of cult like group of survivalists (or whatever) who meet frequently. But there is more to this than meets the eye. Once again, the President needs to improvise. Meanwhile, Rob Morrow's reporter character is digging away and is in contact with someone with an agenda.

Is this for Real?

After a decent 16th episode, we are back to the usual insipidity.

There is just a team of 4 half-baked people investigating the huge catastrophe that befell on the US.

Sutherland appears jaded, often un-interested as the POTUS.

The only character which appears not to be feeling amused by the going- ons is that of Seth.

What a waste of an original idea.

Witu every episode the show becomes more left-wing
adamsosnowski28 January 2019
The conspiracy/terrorist plot is interesting although it would make more sense if there was a whole team investigating and not only RamboJambo Agent Wells all alone versus the world.

The DC storyline however becomes annoying and very left-wing. So the Republicans are all from the "far right" and basically pretty dumb. They would do anything to gain power so they even hold the country hostage. The good Democrats would like to make some very important moves, but the evil Republicans are all conservative and obstructive. And the president calls himself an independant, but he is all for gun control, high taxes for the rich, socialism and free medical care for all. Yeah, right. That is very independant...

The show was nice to watch as long as it was about the drama. Now it becomes a tool for propaganda. What a shame.

I know this is fiction, but...

This series is fun. It has the same addictive quality as 24. (Must be Keifer Sutherland). The whole conspiracy plot is fun too, especially when Agent Wells is on the screen. But even fiction has to have enough reality in it to be believable. This episode would have us believe that the Republicans would block the confirmation of a Supreme Court nominee because of the candidate's perceived liberal bias. Though this seems like a very plausible idea, the simple historical fact is that the Republicans have never done this. The Democrats did it successfully with Bork, and attempted it with Thomas and Kavanaugh, all because of a perceived conservative bias. Apparently the writers disapproved of playing partisan politics when it comes to the Supreme Court, but do they have so little acquantance with the real politics of Washington D.C. that they commit gaffs like that? Republicans have done some bad things and they have some characteristic flaws. Holding the judicial appointment process hostage doesn't happen to be one of them.

I'm out.

Warning: Spoilers
You lost me. I just can't take the ridiculous political pandering. There's absolutely no rational reason why in that world after what happened they would be attacking the 2nd Amendment. It's not rational, it's not even slightly reasonable. Seeing these people act as if Congress wasn't blown up and they've been in Congress the whole time is beyond suspension of disbelief.

I am done with TV shows that try and make political points in real life. I'm serious. This TV model needs to be retired. People don't want to be preached to while trying to be entertained.

From this moment on the second I spot political pandering in a TV show I'm instantly shutting it off and never watching it again.

This show started out great. I was being entertained and having some fun on the ride but as soon as you tried to turn it into "The West Wing" you lost me. Fire all these kinds of Producers and Writers. Seriously. There's plenty of writers who need work who don't need to be defacto lobbyists.

Evolved into the same old same old.
vifarms10 January 2023
What started out as a compelling, even riveting storyline has evolved into the same old liberal talking points the entertainment industry has been dishing out for last couple of decades. The repetitive use of the phrase "our democracy" to describe the United States rather than the correct term of Constitutional Republic is precisely what the mainstream media and the democrat party has been stressing since the Obama regime.

The cloak and dagger scenes are very good, but the White House portions are shamefully liberal. It seems as though the writers are with the DNC. It makes the series very difficult to continue to tune in to.
