Remember Yuri!!! on Ice? The ice-skating anime series was a big hit back in 2016, as it was praised for its aesthetical approach, character development, the depiction of ice skating (which was praised even by professionals!), anxiety, as well as homosexuality. And while the original anime series had only 12 episodes and one Ova, it is still dearly remembered by many fans as one of Mappa’s boldest outings. The series was streamed internationally by Crunchyroll, which enabled it to become globally popular.
The series was created by Sayo Yamamoto and Mitsurō Kubo, who co-wrote the series with Yamamoto serving as co-director as well. If you remember, back in April 2017, an anime movie sequel was announced at the Yuri!!! on Stage exhibition event, but it is 2024 and the movie has not premiered yet. Recently, Mappa issued a statement confirming the sad news that the planned Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence has been officially canceled!

A while back, Mappa Studio announced the production of Yuri!!! on Ice The Movie: Ice Adolescence, which was a spin-off for the original Yuri!!! On Ice anime series. However, it was recently announced that the movie has been canceled due to “various circumstances,” which the studio has not revealed as of yet.
Yuri!!! on Ice The Movie: Ice Adolescence
Yuri!!! on Ice was written by Mitsurō Kubo and had an anime series created by Sayo Yamamoto, which was released in 2016. The story featured a Japanese figure skater called Yuri Katsuki, who was about to give up on his dream until a well-known champion by the name of Victor Nikiforov agreed to coach him.
The movie was announced in 2017 just after the first season of the anime series was finished and was supposed to be released in 2019, but it got delayed and is now ultimately cancelled. There is a chance that...

Studio Mappa, which has brought us such hits as Terror in Resonance, Yuri!!! on Ice, In This Corner of the World, Kakegurui, Banana Fish, Zombie Land Saga, Dorohedoro, The God of High School, Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Vinland Saga Season 2, Chainsaw Man, and Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, has announced a completely new, original anime series titled Zenshu, which is going to be released at an undisclosed date in the future.
Mappa has decided to tackle the rom-com genre but from a meta-perspective: namely, the main character, Natsuko Hirose, is a genius anime creator, but she now has to tackle a project that will prove to be a challenge for her. Namely, she has to create a rom-com anime herself, but the problem is that she herself has never been in love before, which makes her job all the more difficult. The first poster for the film was also released,...

The one anime series that I'm most excited about this spring is "Skip and Loafer." The source manga tells the tale of Mitsumi Iwakura, an ambitious teenage girl from the country who moves to Tokyo for high school. There she meets the easygoing Sosuke Shima, and the two of them slowly build a close-knit network of friends that includes local mean girl Mika Egashira, bookish Makoto Kurame, and independent-minded Yuzuki Murashige. Each of them is as different as can be, and yet despite bad early impressions, they find a common cause in each other. "Skip and Loafer" is too good-natured to be a "realistic" high school story. But it is successful at evoking the texture of adolescence in its banality, complexity, and sweetness.

Sharpen your teeth, because the highly-anticipated anime adaptation of "Chainsaw Man," Tatsuki Fujimoto's award-winning and extremely popular manga series of the same name is arriving on Crunchyroll next month. Originally serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump, the "Chainsaw Man" anime is directed by Ryū Nakayama, and tells a bleak and nihilistic story about Denji, a teenage boy living with Pochita, a painfully adorable dog err ... chainsaw devil as the two harvest devil corpses to repay the debt of his father. After Denji is betrayed and killed he makes a contract with Pochita to be revived as a "Chainsaw Man," which gives him the ability to spawn chainsaws out of his body, including a horrifying metal head with a chainsaw on top and sharp teeth to help him gnash demons.
The premise sounds like something out of a Clive Barker novel, but would you believe that "Chainsaw Man" is...
