The Game Plan (#1.5)
ComedyFan20106 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A nice part of the episode was how Jack and Rebecca were talking about having kids. A pretty realistic way of how people may look at this big decision in their lives. Well performed. Kate connecting football with her father and it being special to her was also a great part of the episode. She ended up bringing Toby into it and we now also know that Jack is dead. Kevin dealing with the death conversation was also very well done. William was a great character in it. Randall and Beth having a pregnancy scare was also a good part, connected to his parents as it shows how this could have changed the life he imagined to have.

Actually a Goof/Inconsistency
kymberleigh-771803 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Did a goof or an inconsistency, there is no way that the triplets were born on the date previously referenced if Kate was conceived during any Super Bowl over the last 54 years. During the first episode, Kevin states that it's all because of the Challenger explosion that he had a bad birthday in second grade. The Challenger explosion happened on January 28, 1986. I know this for a fact because January 28th is also my birthday. This comment from Kevin was what got me hooked on the show. During this episode, Kate states she was conceived during the Super Bowl in the restroom. Impossible. In order to have your birthday in January, you can be conceived no earlier than late March. What should have been stated, was that her birthday fell on the day of the Super Bowl multiple times. I can attest to the fact that over the years, many times, the Super Bowl has fallen on the 28th of January. When doing a show with historical references, the writers need to do more fact-checking.

Carelessness That Should Have Been Addressed
Hitchcoc1 April 2024
I enjoyed this episode, especially the issue of a potential pregnancy. It shows that a couple needs to address the "should we have a child" business. There definitely was little communication between these people. Of course, when there are three children all at the same time, it makes the past a lot more critical. The football business was interesting. I have always been one of those people who like to focus on a game, especially an important one. This is at the center of several encounters in this episode. When Kate agrees to watch the Super Bowl with Toby she assume he will respect her interest. He can be incredibly boorish at times. It certainly is one of those times when reading clues would be good. I find Toby to be a self centered showman frequently and his not taking Kate's wishes seriously is hard to watch. The fight in the bar is a bit much. Again, their conversation should have been moved since the other customers warned them on several occasions to knock it off. Well done, but painful, like many episodes.

Young Rebecca at the opening scene should be 5-6 years older than the young actress.
enginyegul31 January 2019
In the opening scene of this episode, we see a young Rebecca, who is probably around 13-14 years old. However, the game on the black and white TV screen displays Super Bowl III, and Rebecca should be almost 19 years old by then. (In the following scenes of the same episode, we learn that Rebecca is almost 30 years old during Super Bowl XIV. Therefore, she should be almost 19 years old during Super Bowl III, which was eleven years before Super Bowl XIV.)
