Good enough

Is this like every other shoujo manga turned movie? Yes, but, fortunately, its production saved it from being a failure. That and the leading lady. She was not only very good at her acting, but also her character was easily relatable and very likable. Another plus for this movie was the friendship theme and the love triangle. The mystery behind the boy's first disappearance and then his "past" wasn't that interesting, as it wasn't treated as a mystery at all. However, he kept letting down the girl with no real explanation and that was a little annoying, as he was presented as the bad boy type though he didn't look like it. In addition, towards the end, it started getting boring and the final result was too predictable. That's why, I'm rating this one with 5 out of 10.

Fans of the genre will enjoy

We know what makes a great movie, and yes it lacks in a few of those.

I will say it is still enjoyable if you like the genre or more so if you liked the anime.

Definitely is cute and can pull out tears if you can tolerate some cringy spots >.<

Overstays its welcome

This movie is way too long for the story it tells. It sets up an interesting scenario with likeable characters and a relatable, emotional story about a brooding, troubled guy and the girl who likes him. But then it kind of just keeps spinning its wheels and the story doesn't really move on. Instead it gets slightly annoying when another girl is introduced, who is just unlikable. It really could have been over in an hour and it would have been better that way. Basically it's a pretty nice movie about friendship and love, but way to long for what it is.

Fair movie

I liked it, but it was kinda too long and repetitive. I don't know why most of japanese movies are about teens or students, aniway I found a little bit fairy tail all of the people to care about just one guy who doesn't want to be saved. And if someone dared to make me wait for him three times, he would be dead by now. I found it strange the stubborn girl from Nagasaki just gave up on him, everything was too made up. And the woman who died from cancer had pretty lameside effects from her decease. Your mones are not changing their shape if you have kidney cancer, tumors are small formations inside the liver, they can't reshape your bones. Also her voice doesn't change and she don't lose her memory, it's liver cancer, not a brain one. At least someone should check the script before publish this. Anyway the movie wasn't so bad abd I liked the main characters.

Spoilers - Okay, so as a person who has both read the original translated manga and have watched the anime adaptation - I quite liked and both disliked this movie. The biggest strength of this movie is - Futaba's character - honestly (that's my opinion) - I did find the original futaba a bit cringey - this version of futaba on the contrary supports kou without causing further trouble of adding to the turmoil and giving the limelight to the deserved object of focus rather than her ,but at the start I became a bit down since the actresses seemed to have overacted but as the movie progresses, she refines and adapts herself into the character. Now the dislike - well the narration. The first past I.e kou's past seemed to have been highlighted more - something just seemed off. I know they had to cover the later part as well but given the dynamics - Narumi's part might could have been cut off more. Thing I just want to mention- Kou. Actor who acted as Kou - he fit perfectly well but just that something seemed incomplete- maybe I was expecting some expressions which never occur given my tendency to compare it to the source.

Overall - it seemed to have done justice to the story. Some lines seemed to have been changed but nevertheless some changes did took me off guard and are worth appreciation.

One of the best romantic movie made by Japan!

First of all, i never expected that this movie got less review and rating by the people,

and this is so unfair.., as for me, i really got angry with myself why it took so long for me to found this jewel ! and so because of it, i would like to share this :

DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE RATES AND REVIEWS!!

please believe in my truly honest review! this is one of the best among the best romantic, comedy, friendship, family movie that i ever watched !

yes, the movie is quite long, but it doesn't make the story becomes dull or boring, but just in reverse way, more and more deeper to the dark side of the characters, complexity of each relationship, and climax and beautiful ending at the end,

i was able to laugh a lot, angry through the stupidity and decision made by the character, and also cries due to the truthful story behind all of it, none of other romantic movie ever made me so satisfied with all of these feelings..,

last of my words, we do have our own perspectives, so people maybe say that this movie is lame, i don't care, as for me, this movie., Blue Spring Ride ( Aoharaido ) will be forever inside my heart, as one of the best movie that i ever watched !
