Incredibly prescient

Warning: Spoilers
This episode focuses on the 1996 Clinton v Dole presidential election, and Evan made a rather prescient comment that a candidate can win the popular vote but lose the election. This episode was broadcast just before the 2016 Hillary Clinton v Trump election, and guess what, Clinton wins the popular vote bigly but loses the electoral college:(

Also, it would have been fascinating if Evan had mentioned how a European country like Austria run their presidential elections, where the candidate winning the popular vote actually wins the election, gee how quaint.

Uncharacteristically preachy episode
mpanell18 December 2023
I love this show, but this episode was very preachy and not very funny. They could have at least tried to be subtle or moderate but they didn't. It was very predictable and unentertaining to watch, which was strange because so far the show has been hilarious. I've never felt like this show is aimed at one political party over another and never thought that your political affiliation should matter when you watch it, but this episode was very hard in one direction. It felt very manipulative and unpleasant. I hope that this was a one time thing. I don't even completely disagree with the point the show was trying to make, but I don't want someone's political opinions spoon fed to me in a condescending, one sided fashion while I'm just trying to watch a funny tv show.
