Falls Flat Completely as Heroism dominates the script
dsandy-8038024 January 2017
One of the worst movies ever by the MEGA STAR. For his comeback film that too 150th he chose a subject which was already made in Tamil which is block buster in Tamil but the Telugu version failed miserably. The charm of his acting and screen presence has lost its value. The hype created before the release just fell flat. This movie is only for the die hard fans of Chiranjeevi as they will like and praise the movie even if doesn't work well. Screenplay is also not too good , music also average except for one song ( SUNDARI ) The plot loses its way as the movie completely revolves around the HERO. it had a very good subject but Over hyping the ACTOR as his comeback film and 150th film it fails and could not connect with the Audience.

Khaidhi No.150 is a proof that Mega star never lost his charm even after this long gap.But other than him, this movie is just a mediocre remake of Kaththi.

Khaidi No.150 (2017): Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Chiranjeevi Mega Star.....This is a fanatic slogan for every movie lover in those times.Konidela Shiva Shankara Varaprasad,an once unknown person ruled Tollywood for almost 2 decades as Chiranjeevi. After a gap of 10 years,Boss is back with his new movie Khaidi No.150 which is a remake of Tamil blockbuster and one of my favorite movie Kaththi.Khaidi No 150 which has been in the news for over a year has hit the silver screens today. Can Chiranjeevi reclaim his glory and position with this movie?Does he have the same charisma and screen presence?

Plot:

Kaththi Seenu (Chiranjeevi) is a happy go lucky crook who escapes from jail and plans to leave the country for good. One fine day, he comes across an accident and helps the man who gets affected by it.The twist in the tale arises when Seenu finds out that the man(Shankar) he saved is the exact look a like of him. He cleverly sends back Shankar to jail in his place and silently enters his life to earn more money. There, he comes to know that Shankar's life is miserable as he is the only man who is helping the downtrodden farmers of his village. Upset by this, Seenu decides to own Shankar's problems and launches a huge fight against the corporate companies who are behind all this. How does he solve all these problems forms the rest of the story?

Plus Points:

1)Mega Star: One word which I can truly say is that Boss is really back.Chiranjeevi did not lose any of his charm and still has the same charisma and josh. His comedy timing is marvelous and he is the sole reason for this movie to shatter all box office records.Chiru's performance during the emotional scenes and climax bring a lot of depth to the film. His dances may not have heavy steps but has many of his signature moves (Veena step too) Chiranjeevi proved well enough that he has Adhe Energy Adhe Charisma..

2)Flashback: Flashback episode is the only part of the movie which successfully carried the necessary emotion.Chiranjeevi brought necessary emotion in the role of Shankar and all the scenes in his village are handled well. That felicitation scene is brilliant and carried the same feel of original.

3)Cinematography: Popular cinematographer Rathnavelu shot the film in a rich manner and he also made Chiru look young in many frames.Chiranjeevi stylists deserves special mention for bringing stunning look for Chiru.

Minus Points:

1)Music: DSP terribly disappointed with his lame imitation of Kaththi theme. He could have tried his own Background score or used the original theme as it is.But he tried a Kichidi version of Kaththi theme which resulted in a childish video game score.Even his songs may impress mass audience but they are just rehash of his old songs. Background score is the major highlight of Kaththi but here it failed miserably and spoiled many scenes, even the famous Coin Fight scene too.Songs placement is so bad.

2)Casting: Except Chiru,Ali and the old persons rest of them failed to impress.Kajal is bad and her costumes are worse.Villain Tarun Arora is so lame.He did not match anywhere near Neil Nitin of original.

3)Comedy: The comedy track between Chiru and Brahmanandham,Chiru and Posani are totally outdated and irritating. Why the heck do they even tried to add these unnecessarily.

4)Dialogues: Except few dialogues, most of them are not at all striking and fails to impress.

So,Khaidhi No.150 is a proof that Mega star never lost his charm even after this long gap.But other than him, this movie is just a mediocre remake of Kaththi. One Time Watch

Khaidi 150 - 'Tollywood ka Baap' IS BACK !!!
chirukiranu22 June 2018
Evarina chustiuntara nadiche nakshatrani Eduroste egapadipora nene aa chitrani Ne pandistuna rythunai chirunavvu thotalini Paripalistuna rajunai koti gundela kotalni....

Indeed, a fitting tribute from Seetharama Sastry garu to the undisputed King of Telugu cinema - Megastar Chiranjeevi. He's one of the very few Indian movie heroes who can set cash registers ringing even with average contents. SS Rajamouli once candidly said in an interview - "To make a good movie, you need a good subject. But to make a blockbuster movie, you start with a Star". For close to 3 decades, Telugu cinema had its star, whose stardom rose to the pinnacle and at the same time had the nation sit back and take notice of Telugu movie stamina. If NTR had put telugu pride on the national map, then it was Chiranjeevi who put TFI into the national league with this movie collections.

Khaidi 150 is Chiru's own definition of one man show. You can see a 'Idar ka maal udar' Auto Johnny, 'Rough aadinche' Rajaram, 'Cheppaliani undi Gonthu vippaliani undi' Suryam and so on. He's brought his panache, his impeccable comic timing and his emotional dialogue delivery back with him after 10 long yrs. Only Jr NTR in Adhurs and Mahesh in Khaleja have come any closer to matching his timing in comedy. In Khaidi 150, Chiru with Brahmi and Ali keeps you entertained all along. Remember - Chamaku chammaku cham song from Kondaveeti Donga? There's a dance step choreographed by our Sundaram master where Chiru just wipes out his sweat using a napkin from his pocket. Quite graceful. There's plenty of that offered in Khaidi 150. No, not sweat. Its grace, you silly. Also, there's a cameo from Kajal in addition to Vinayak's and Charan's. She's in 3 songs and only songs. Kudos to DSP who elevates every frame with his thumping BGM and yes it's a known fact most of the songs are now heard more than the honks during traffic snarls in both the Telugu states. Dialogues by Sai Madhav and Parchuri Brothers are okay. Tarun Arora the antagonist is no match to our Khaidi and is probably the weakest link. All the other technicians have put in dedicated efforts to make this venture a grand memorable success.

I haven't seen the original Katthi but the basic plot by Murgadoss seems to be pretty ordinary. VV Vinayak stuck to the original but added all ancillary elements for a commercial potboiler - pinch of comedy, tablespoon of tragedy, ounces of oomph similar to what I once did in my Chemistry lab during school days with real chemicals. I got kicked out but Vinayak is being heaped with accolades for reel chemicals. Logic goes for a big toss. Sometimes, you can stand in the theater and laugh out loudly for the onscreen bloopers. They are so easy to catch like Pokémon. If you are an ardent Chiru fan you would ignore them, if not you would post memes on FB. You are free to choose your side.

So, made up your minds? Wanna watch the Return of the King? You can - without any qualms. Mundane story, few boo-boo's here and there and mass masala elements might throw you off - A sweet warning.

Cringeworthy
shravanbelde16 April 2017
Writing this for the sake of Non-Telugu Audience. Don't let the rating fool you into watching this cliché-filled drama made worse with over-the-top acting and lame humor. It's a movie suited to last decade, not worth your 142mins. The bloated rating is a result of Actor's huge following, and something around 5 would've been ideal. You can probably go for it if you like Masala flicks which are light on brain, we have better ones in same genre though.

Well I am not a die hard fan who watches on first day. I bought a ticket to watch from one of my friends.. So don't take it as a review by a fan who is biased. Mine is an unbiased review. It is a great family entertainer. This movie does not have any vulgar scenes. So you can have fun watching this with your family. Chiru fans seemed less vocal and well behaved which I didn't expect on the very first day of his comeback movie. So I watched the movie pleasantly.

Now coming to the review: 1. Chiranjeevi- Great actor for a reason. His comeback was highly anticipated from the audience and he did a great job. His style, dance and action were great. There is no scene in the movie which showed any decline of Chiru's performance. He is still great. I can't believe he is 60+ years old. I appreciate his dance moves for such an aged person. He looked young and energetic. His action is awesome. The interval fight scene stands out! 2. Kajal- Looked hot and did good acting. Her role was limited and she gave her best. 3. Ali,Brahmanandam: Great fun watching them. Specially Brahmanandam garu's character was a complete surprise. 4.Others: All the other actors did well and the villain was decent.

Positives: 1.Highlights of the movie were the 1st half interval scene & 2nd half coin fight scene. 2.Dance moves of graceful Chiru is always a treat. 3.Songs are beautiful with great costumes. 4.DSP gave great background music. Raised the movie level. 5.VV Vinayak's direction was excellent. I was more impressed with the movie than the trailer. The trailer looked average but after watching the movie I really appreciated his direction.

Negatives: Nothing. I didn't find any. Although if you are a womanizer then you will not have any sexy scenes to watch and this is expected of Chiru's movie(because they are mostly intended for all including children). However I felt the villain could have been someone who spoke Telugu. His dubbing was not that great but he did a decent job and was not awkward. So nothing really negative.

Conclusion: Overall an excellent comeback movie from the Megastar. The social message in the movie also makes it a must watch. Even though it is a remake, one should not look down because it has brought a nice story to our Telugu audience. There are few changes in the story. I appreciate the superiority it showed over the original Tamil version. This movie can also be commercial super hit because the response I saw around during the movie was incredible. Huge positive response!! I appreciate all the artists of this movie and wish them all the best!

A Disgrace to the Movie industry
techie-0091622 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
First of all i am a very huge fan of Megastar chiranjeevi and I loved seeing a lot of movies of his from my childhood and was waiting very eagerly to watch his latest movie Khaidhi no 150 which is a remake of Kaththi

Before Movie my Expectations were very High

But After seeing movie I completely honestly must tell thats its a very awful remake of Original

It lacks a good BGM score , screenplay is pathetic , the Villain role is no words for this !!!! , from start the movie seems runny but nothing , It lacks that emotion content throughout , unnecessary comedy and item song , etc

In fact This films fails as movie at all

Still the reason i wanted to give 4 out of 10 for this is just because

I am a fan of Chiranjeevi which deserves 1 point songs and dances are good 2 points Fights are over type but at least some thing to watch which deserves 1 point thats it

Its a Shame how a film thats awful gets 150 + cr collections in box office just because hes star and how other thought provoking excellent films gets meagre collections

A disgrace to the Industry

VV Vinayak failed and better sit in home

Chiranjeevi makes a thumping comeback with one man show, superb songs, and a good message makes this film a good watch this festival season
rambvrm13 January 2017
Kaththi Seenu (Chiranjeevi) is a happy go lucky crook who escapes from jail and plans to leave the country for good. He runs away from the prison, only to get caught up in a crime scene involving his doppelganger Shiv Shankar Varaprasad aka Shankar (Yes that's Chiru 2 and yes that's his actual name in life). Chiru 1 switches identity with Chiru 2 and a quick flashback forces him to assume the latter's character to fight corruption.

Chiranjeevi outperforms himself and illustrates the kind of commitment and hard work he does despite having an illustrious track record and talent. In the first 30 minutes of the movie, he gives us a glimpse of vintage Chiranjeevi with his impeccable yet subtle comedy timing. The shoelace step in Sundari song is a feast to eyes. He excels in all three fights in the movie. He shows nice variation between the two characters.Be it his crazy dialogues or stunning dance moves, everything will make mega fans quite happy. Chiru's performance during the emotional scenes and climax bring a lot of depth to the film. Kajal looks gorgeous in the film and nicely suits the frame with Chiru. Not once do you feel that the pairing looks odd. The first half of the film is quite breezy with a thumping interval block. Credit should also go to Devi Sri Prasad for giving a superb music score as all the songs will be hugely loved by all. Especially, the situation turns euphoric during the last song where Charan makes an entry.

I haven't seen the original film Kaththi. First half of the film is nicely balanced with entertainment and content. Second half gets into serious mode as the story intensifies. Plus points are Chiranjeevi's extraordinary comeback, nice story line and thought- provoking dialogues for farmers. On the flip side, the narration should have been more organic. On a whole, Khaidi No. 150 is a feast for fans and a decent movie for the rest.

I'm a die hard fan of chiru... I went to the movie on first day alone.. next to me there was a coward sitting next to me and doing all drama to show movie is bad that created negative thoughts in me.. though movie was good he influenced me and kept in doubt.. I went second time to movie with family.. movie was so interesting.. chiru is really so great... what a dance and grace.. took movie on his shoulders... not even a min boring... i rate 9 for this movie Plus Points: Chiranjeevi Acting,Chiranjeevi Dance, Story Comedy,Coin fight. Family Audience enjoy movie a lot.. i heart some kids saying in theater wow i love chiru uncle what a fight and dance.. so he killed it.. because kids can't lie.

Chiranjeevi is No.1 of tollywood, no one can replace him.Chiranjeevi makes the most of the script to project his return and he does it naturally.
raghuraamn29 January 2017
After a long gap. Chiru is on screen, acting, dancing, dailouge delivery fighting every thing is fabulous. Sentiment scenes should increase more, no comments on mega hero movie.. Excellent narration and screen play..Ultimate acting, dance by megastar. Totally one man show. Watchable for chiranjeevi comeback. Mega mania continues. A first 100 crore share movie in single language. Kaththi Sreenu (Chiru 1) is a small-time thief who helps police catch an escaped prisoner even as he plans his own. DSP songs do pump up the narrative but a slight disappointment is that dancer Chiru of Indra and Tagore is quite not in shape for a new step. There is modified Veena step and a "buckle lift" step with his son, Ram Charan Teja, who makes a 30-second cameo in a song, but the same agility and lithe is missing.Chiranjeevi, who is making his comeback to acting after 10 years, has played dual roles in Khaidi No 150 and has delivered a wonderful performance. He impresses the viewers with his young looks, action, dance and dailogue delivery.

Kajal Aggarwal, who appears as his love interest, has done justice to her role and her glamour and chemistry with Chiru are among the highlights of the film.Posani Murali, Ali, Brahmanandam and other supporting characters give their best in their respective roles. The special cameo of Ram Charan and Allu Arjun make the fans go mad. Actress Rai Laxmi, who did a special song in the film is simply amazing. Though she is there for a short time, she stole the show.

The soundtracks, background score, picturisation, the amazing choreography of dance and action are the big attractions, says the audience.Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad's music (songs) got tremendous response from the music lovers except the background score in the trailer which seems to be not upto the mark. Megapower star Ram Charan is bankrolling the project and has made it on uncompromising levels. Verdict: Complete formulated entertainer for this festival season with megastar career best performances, One of the Best movies of Chiranjeevi. Khaidi No 150 is the best comeback film of Chiranjeevi with all sorts of elements. A feast for his Fans !! Surely a Must Watch !!!

Its just chiru, nothing else.
ravi12982 April 2017
Well, the anticipation was that of Megastar returning to big screen after 10 years. Nothing else. if you have watched "Kaththi", then it will be obvious that you will like it better than the telugu version. As it is a remake, I have to compare the two movies, or else the whole sense of remake would be simply be stupid. The only good or better that happened with this movie is Chriru, rest all is just a ride of stupidfest of the writers, director and as well as the musician. I have one simple question. "Why would you remake a movie which is already a blockbuster in other language and with this level of globalization many people have watched it. why?". This doesn't make any sense at all. Coming to the writing, its just the hero worship of the protagonist rather than focusing on the story or the script. Few characters were created just for that, for example: Doberman. If a Star comes to big-screen after a long gap, all he needs is a powerful story with gripping screenplay, definitely not this kind of a movie. So, please make some sensible movies and employ some sensible writers and please come out of the notion that you should entertain the mass audience. there are other kind of people too who watch movies. Please. Have some sense.

The boss is back with a bang! Khaidi No. 150 is much-awaited movie for the megastar Chiranjeevi in a full-length role as a hero after a gap of nine
siddartanaidu13 January 2017
Khaidi No. 150 is a much-awaited movie for the megastar Chiranjeevi in a full-length role as a hero after a gap of nine years. this movie is fantastic. Comedy is one of the highlights of the movie. ammadu kummudu is out of this world . Didnot get to see such graceful dance movies in last 10 years. fight before interval is superb. Kajal is beautiful and fresh . lot better than she looked in sardar. brahmi is also back along with his boss. DSP BGM is top notch.

For the first time, Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja is introduced as a producer with Konidela Productions. V.V. Vinayak is decided to be the captain of the ship. Being a comeback movie of the megastar, expectations are huge. Let's see if the movie is able to meet the expectations of the audience.

Kathi Srinu (Chiranjeevi) is a prisoner who escapes from a jail at Kolkata. Shankar (Chiranjeevi) is a hydrologist who fights for the plight of farmers in his village Neeruru. Srinu comes to Shankar's rescue when he was targeted by a corporate mafia. Srinu takes Shankar's place and police arrests Shankar in a mistaken identity assuming that he is Srinu.

Chiru excelled in both the characters, as Srinu and as Shankar. Kajal has a limited role and looked glamorous in songs. Ali as Srinu's friend succeeded in bringing the entire theater to splits with laughter. Tarun Arora looked apt in the role of a corporate owner and as the main antagonist. Brahmanandam episodes with Chiranjeevi worked well. Posani and Prudhvi had limited roles and did justice to the roles they enacted. Rest of the cast is adequate. Ram Charan did a special cameo in the song Ammadu Let's Do Kammudu and is a treat to watch the father-son duo dance.

Khaidi No. 150 is megastar's tribute to his fans who are hungry to see their demigod back on screen. This is undoubtedly a feast for them.
