Ended this Clone War has.
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic19 October 2020
In a way this is a corny premise: a group of battle droids were not shut down by their droid leader at the end of the Clone Wars and act as if the war is still continuing. They want to achieve victory against the small group of Rebels led by Rex who in turn wants victory against the droids.

It is done so well and with such thoughtful touches that it becomes a great episode.

Both the droid leader and Rex have unfinished business and come to realise they were both used as part of the plan to create the Empire.

There is cool action but it is the dialogue and ideas that make this strong.

My rating: 8.5/10.

The Last Battle
lassegalsgaard19 December 2019
Just like the last episode, this was also a personal tale. This time, the focus was Captain Rex as he faced off against an army of battle droids. There is no doubt in my mind that this episode was made for fans of "The Clone Wars," and since I count myself among those fans, I was taken in by this episode from the very beginning. It felt nostalgic, yet new in that we haven't seen Kanan and Ezra participate in this sort of grand battle. It is a clear nod to those people who never got a clear ending to that series, so this episode served as an epilogue to that, and even though it isn't a completely satisfying ending, in that it's not a part of that series, it is a nice little bottle episode that gives the audience a taste of what could have been. There are some logical problems with the strategic aspect of the episode and the battle droids weren't less irritating than before, but overall, this was a very satisfying episode that didn't do a lot to further the plot, but served as a reminder for fans of "The Clone Wars" that the spirit of that series lives on here, and I am so happy that they took the time to give us that closure.

Never thought I'd be so happy to hear the words "Roger Roger" be spoken by a Clanker again. Amazing throwback episode.

amazing tie in from clone wars to rebels

This was trip down memory lane for rex and clone wars fans.

I love these my enemy's enemy is my ally episodes.

Love the exploration of what it means to fight a war, its purpose, and working together.

Best season 3 episode so far. This feels like an unintentional way of ending the clone wars properly (before there was final clone wars season was created)

Just perfect way to wrap up the clone wars from a soiled point of view. Loved all the throwbacks to the clone wars series. Maybe not worth a 10 but I the extra stars is for the idea!

The Clones Wars S7 E13

Warning: Spoilers
I mean it IS in a way. The Bad Batch is a literal follow-up to Clone Wars and this series is a sequel to both but yeah.

Anyway, this was a lovely trip down memory lane, and it was surprisingly well written too. Seeing Rex uneasy about the past war and eventually building an unlikely trust with a tactical droid was believable and delightful as well. It was cool seeing the differences in the war between the droids and the clones compared to the war between the rebels and the empire. It's not something I thought too much on until now.

The animation was really good too, and is it just me, or is this show really funny sometimes? Every time Chopper giggles, I'm laughing with him. Or...

"Jedi, is this boy your apprentice?"

"Most of the time."

Love it.

This was the best Rebels episode to date.
ryzoft23 October 2016
This episode was a complete fan service for the PT/TCW fans. The fact that Disney are now acknowledging us is all the proof that our voices are getting louder as fans. There was a time when I felt like the only person who preferred the PT but then I meet friends who said the same.

Many people will argue the OT is better than the PT which I disagree with for many reasons. Just because I like the PT more does not mean I'm any lesser of a Star Wars fan than anyone else. Everyone has their own opinions and the guys over at Star Wars Rebels are starting to see this.

I am forever in Dave Filonis debt for this amazing fan service. He did it just right and all of the other people who worked on that episode.

Thank you Rebels/TCW team who worked on this episode. I loved being back in TCW for one last time.

One last battle!

This really brought back memories. Rex was drawn back to the prequel era and so was i. Seeing the battle droids alone gave me hope that this is going to be fantastic. And i wasn't wrong. It was a beauty, in terms of fan service, depth and emotion, action and it certainly gave me the retro-feel. Watching this, it made me realise, which i always have, Prequels didn't deserved that much hate. It deserved better. George's vision was the strength. And people blindly criticised and made fun of everything.

Warning: Spoilers
Plot; While on a scavenging mission, Rex and company run into a platoon of still active battle droids whose commander wants to fight one last battle to decide the Clone Wars.

Rebels certainly likes looking back at the Clone Wars (and by that I mean its animated forefather). Perhaps a bit too much for my tastes, but it's done to pretty good effect here.

I wish it'd had the guts to simply play out the darker and more interesting winner takes it all scenario it sets up rather than settling for a few scuffles and a kumbaya team up, but this show tends to play it safe until the season finales.
