Ok, not kid friendly
nickmac1426 September 2023
I'm a big r/c person, I own over 30 hobby grade vehicles and have been into it for over 30 years. The r/c part was ok, lots of inaccuracies. Most of the time the buggy wasn't turned on before races, tires were turned. Gear stripping sounds, gas cars that made electric sounds, people who don't even know what voltage their batteries are. This movie would be rated R for language, sexual situations, etc. Don't watch it with kids thinking it's a family movie. The characters were all unlikeable and I wonder who acts like them in real life? I'm probably lucky I don't know people like this where I'm from. Watch it once, don't waste your money on HD.

Missed Opportunity, Instead We get Unrealistic Tantrum Story Line
zealousdragon26 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first 30 minutes wasn't bad. However it made no sense that everyone including the guys boss was way to concerned to what he does on his lunch break. There is no explanation why this 26 year old guy throws these fits like a 12 year old girl and then the girl puts up with it. This happens over and over. Just so much unrealistic drama. Best part of the movie is where BOTH girls out of no where express their discuss of the other girls name as soon as they learn of it. Starting to think this was written by a 12 year old girl. Would never recommend this to anyone.

Liked the movie, didn't like Drew.
Randomizer260022 May 2020
I picked this movie randomly because I thought it had flying cars. My friends and I have been getting into RC cars recently, so I stuck with it. The main character, Drew, is a perfect example of a guy not quite ready to be an adult. The actor, Jeremy Schuetze, does a nice job of making him likeable, but every time he does a dumb thing, you know its going to bite him in the ass, but Drew doesn't know. I was wondering why is girlfriend sticks with him, but they pull it all together at the end of the movie.

Its like watching a slow speed train wreck. Not the movie, but Drew.

Enjoyed watching

Script could be better, certain dialogue a bit off, preferably a little more background story about 2 protagonists etc.... Nonetheless, acting of the 2 main actors is pretty good and all in all I did really enjoy watching it and in the end that's what counts. And I learnt a bit about RC car racing.

Truly a fun experience!

Prior to watching this film, I really didn't know much about RC car racing. But watching the intensity of the RC competitions and various stunts was a fun experience. The passion that the protagonists (Drew and Rachel) had for this niche sport was so tangible, that it even made me want to try RC racing. The race track locations, character development, and just the overall vibe of the film was great. Anyone would enjoy this film for its perfect nostalgia factor for those who grew up with RC cars, or for its strong calling to those who pursue their hobbies and dreams.

Seriously a fun movie for rc car lovers
Shadow244219 May 2020
This movie got it all. RC fun, obsession, love, remorse, making the wrong decisions and making the right decisions.

Flying Cars is about RC cars, it's obsession and of course how the obsession can set you back financially and emotionally... wanting to live the dream of staying a kid, but then realizing it will mess your life up when it's becoming an obsession.

being there myself some years ago, I still love rc cars and I love this movie. I wish the rc stuff would have been done a little more serious, making him more like an aspiring racer, not just do a jump competition. but besides some minor details, this movie was really fun and took me right back.

performances were heartful and really surprisingly well. i love the main characters and that there is a little love story in there, to keep the movie enjoyable also by non-rc-fans.

was waiting to see this movie and was not disappointed.... this movie does not win awards in directing, special effects or acting, but it's about the love of rc cars.....one of my favourite movies of the year.

Well worth watching

Came across very well for a low budget film. A few slight "off" moments but good overall and can't wait for the sequel.
