A Touching Movie

Eleven Days is a coming of age story in the midst of racism, violence and discrimination. You will be vested in the story from the first few scenes scenes. Two thumps up for me.

Loved it! Watched it twice.

Excellent story on the journey of a young man to fulfill his duty to his family. I thought the beginning was a little rushed to set the stage for the young man's journey, but after viewing a second time decided that it was necessary to set the arc of that character and for character development through interaction with other elements of his journey (other characters, different cultures, various levels of prejudice, learning how to trust, forming bonds and friendship, developing a steely determination).

There were two very nicely intertwined journeys in the story, that of the young man and of his older brother who signed up in the military for reasons of vengeance. The crew definitely pulled it off well, bringing both story arcs of the brothers to a touching conclusion. Cinematography was stunning, the notable ones for me being the vast desolate desert and the beaches at the end.

Special mention needs to be given to Jit Singh's talent for conveying emotions very effectively through body language and facial expression. He really pulls you in and makes you part of his journey from start to end.

Quality Family Film
JGReviews6 April 2020
Eleven Days is one of the better coming of age films I've seen in a while. Normally these films aren't primarily meant for adults, so I don't always chose to watch them, but Eleven Days brought more to the genre. The film dealt with some really interesting issues and showcased people, cultures, and locations that deserve more time on screen. A Sikh family having to deal with the impact of racism is what gets this film going, giving it real-world relevance and import. Much of the film then follows a young boy urgently searching for his brother across the Australian outback, and it's not often that a young actor is up to the task like Jit Singh is here. Lastly, I just want to note that the cinematography and beautiful Australian landscapes were quite gorgeous. Eleven Days is definitely worth a watch if you're looking for a quality family film.

A good movie about an important subject

"Eleven Days" casts some intelligent light on the issue of prejudice from several different angles, and wraps it all in a compelling and heartfelt story of a 12 year old's arduous journey to find his brother. Jaginder Singh does a terrific job with the Australian landscape, his actors and his incidents, weaving in all the human moments beautifully. This film is well worth the time. Watch it. It will stay with you.

A little Australian gem. A moving film with a great cast

I was not sure what to expect from this Australian film. Initially I was attracted to it because of the great reviews. And it did not disappoint. Sure, it is not Hollywood blockbuster but don't let that keep you from watching it. A great storyline, great acting, wonderful locations keeps you wondering how it will end. Many of today's (and timeless) themes of the underdog, prejudice and differing cultures are present in this movie. And Director Jaginder Singh does a masterful storytelling job. The acting does not disappoint either. I recommend this little Australian gem. You wont be disappointed.

Great story on the immigrant experience
danajeev4 July 2019
There were many aspects of being an immigrant and the conflict between first generation immigrants and their children, that were touched in this impressive debut by director Jaginder Singh. The beautiful landscape shots and the intricate storyline were impressive. There were specks of humour throughout the movie especially when it came to the bush pilot :). Overall a very good watch.

Touching, challenging, life-affirming

A touching story about a boy's 11 day journey across western Australia to find his brother so they can offer a prayer over their father's ashes. The film is an exploration of faith, family devotion, violence, racism and self-discovery, largely through the boy's perspective. The film is shot well and the acting is mostly solid, but it is the boy's endearing character that keeps us engaged. His journey is adventurous and compelling. The story challenges it's central character while simultaneously challenging us, and is a celebration of the human spirit.

Beautiful film with a heartwarming story.
kavisha-104979 October 2020
Eleven days is a beautiful film. It has a very interesting and unique story with real and relatable emotions. Learned something new about the Sikh culture after watching the film. I loved how a young boy was proud of and respectful towards his culture. He struggled all alone for 11 days to adhere to and fulfill his traditions. It sends out a good message to the younger generation during these modern times. Was really impressed with the way Jit Singh portrayed his character! Great job done!

A compelling dramatic indie film.
harriscalvin-17 April 2020
Eleven Days was truly a dramtic indie film. This film teaches us about the love and bound between a father and his sons and what lenghts one of them would go to to keep and honor the traditions of their faith. Director Jaginder Singh did a great job getting the best performanes out of his actors and crew. The music, editing, and cinematography were all on point.

Fantastic movie
ushamillar8 January 2022
This is a really good storyline and the young actors beat the adults hands down!

To be honest, Sikhism is not a religion I know much about but I learnt from this movie!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 the only critique I have is I teared up at the ending. All in all a very enjoyable & educational movie! I like that it shows what being Punjabi is as opposed to Bollywood movies. Well done!

Sekhi values
startrekfan7221 April 2021
This movie form the getco displays the boys dedication to his faith witch is Sekhi, as some one who practices the faith on se level I was moved to tears by this film it is antestamonial to one boys faith Satnam JI.

Though it is relatively benign it has some adult theam, s I would suggest no one other then 13 through 18 watch this film Unless the child is a Sekhi.

It also displays 2 brothers love for each other and the importance of family. This is a great teaching film it shows how peaceful Sekhi, s are so def worth a watch

Satnam JI.
