Odd premise
rebekahrox22 April 2020
This was not too bad. the only major mark against it was that I couldn't stand the male lead. Neither the character nor the actor who played him. Briefly, he was stalkery, needy, immature, selfish, entitled and I didn't like his looks. Or his mother. The subplots were interesting and It was a surprise seeing Jen Lilley, a Hallmark princess, in a smallish role. Is there much call for a wedding planner who only takes clients that have to do their whole weddings over again? Why not just take brides who want to get it right the first time?

Not good, not bad
Jackbv12318 February 2021
The premise is the overused wedding-planner-has-to-work-with-old-flame. They threw in a second story with the assistant which frankly didn't help. There were no real highs or low or surprises. The conflict was weak. The ending obvious.

The acting was OK, but not great. Nicole Gale Anderson and Parker Young had just a smidge of chemistry but nothing to really draw me in. I can't believe Jen Lilly had such a minor part, even if I'm not a fan of hers. And she put about that much effort into it - minor that is.

I would love to read a book based on this movie. To know what the characters are thinking.

You have Jen Lilley....
Racingphan225 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
You have Jen Lilley in your cast and she's only in the movie for about ten minutes? Total fail.

The lead, Nicole Gale Anderson, is just a face that you forget quickly.

The male lead, Parker Young from Suburgatory, is fine for all that is needed.

The supporting cast is great. Karissa Lee Staples brings more emotion in just a look than the lead ever did.

Bonus points for Brian McNamara from Army Wives.

Yikes! Turn the music volume down!
gordonb-595877 January 2020
The music was so load it was hard to hear the dialog. Sounded like it was on a loop and repeated over and over. And NEVER stopped. I wear hearing aids and they came out about two minutes after it started. My hearing isn't that bad. And just about the time there was a pause in the music, it would start right back up again. It's like nobody checked the audio.

Sweet movie

I wan't sure about the idea of a 'wedding do over', but by the end of the movie I could see the value if it. The young couple who are a nurse and a soldier just returned stateside presented a heartfelt story as they work through their problems. I also thought the actors playing the moms and dads did a great job. Very convincing! I will remember for a long time the face one of the dads makes when eating his wife's healthy homemade bran muffin - now that's acting!

LOVE this movie! But...
jenniferannkoch11 January 2020
Was pleasantly surprised that this movie was as amazing as it was. Such a great cast and story, and such great acting. But for the love of God WHY have music in every scene?? First off it is louder sometimes then the dialogue and it overshadows the actors who are doing a phenomenal job, it's just ruined everything I wanted to love about this movie. I stuck through it and loved the movie anyhow but that God awful overpowering music was VERY unnecessary. Like who was in charge of editing this?! Epic fail.

The Wedding Do-over Needs A Do-over
emloucats1 March 2020
Tepid acting aside, the sound mixing on this movie is awful! Do we really need to hear crickets, songbirds, and mediocre background music over all of the dialogue?

very amateurish.
linda-plant221 February 2019
The lead Nicole Gale Anderson is another clone of that other Hallmark stalwart Meghan Markle. All swishy long dark hair, and very little personality. This young actress needs to articulate her lines better, and not mutter them. Either that or Hallmark should subscribe to having the sub-title facility. Its hard to define what Ms Anderson is saying as she recites her lines so quickly, as do some of her co-actors, a sure sign that the Director is just pleased to get the scene in the can !

Sorry but I am only 25 minutes in, and I care little for the character, her male co star, or the film, so its the off button.

Loved this sweet, different romance
smartdogs-607134 June 2023
I loved how many couples found love in this movie. I thought the actors were great, and I enjoyed the music so much I have been looking for the first song they played in the background.

Maybe they toned down the music (that I saw others had said was too loud and annoying) but I didn't find it to be loud or annoying at all, in fact I loved the music they played.

I loved that this movie showed that relationships take work, sacrifice and communication whether you are dating or have been married for awhile. And many times all it takes is that person saying "I'm sorry, I hear you now, I'm willing to work on my issue, work along with you" etc. To make things right.

This is just the kind of uplifting, light hearted yet showing real relationships kind of movie I really enjoy. Thank you UP TV for showing it!

Just okay
herrcarter-9216127 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was an okay romance. Nothing special. The whole movie seemed to be one contrived setup to get the two leads back together, something that you knew would happen within the first 10 minutes of the movie. That was the main focus of the movie, and it hardly felt like you needed a whole movie to get them there. Most of it, including the two subplots with her assistant and the rocky relationship of the remarrying couple, seemed like filler.

A lot of the plot of this story just seemed unbelievable. Let's just talk about the core premise, that our heroine Abby owns a successful business that offers do-overs of weddings, because the first one somehow went awry. Who, in their right mind, would shell out big bucks to do a repeat of their wedding? Maybe in a huge city like LA, they could find enough stupid people to do this. But how is her company supposed to guarantee that the second wedding won't be a disaster as well? And if they are really that good, why not just offer planning services for the much bigger market of first weddings? And then, you have the ludicrous notion that Abby's ex-fiancee Peter must collaborate with her on every detail of the wedding planning because he's paying for it. Sounds like one wedding planner too many. It's all just a transparent plot device to have the two of them spend time together. And what about Abby canceling their engagement to take an internship in LA? An internship doing what, exactly? How does that even tie in with her eventual "dream" of owning a wedding do-over business? And when Peter says he would have followed Abby anywhere. Well, why didn't he just do it, instead of allowing her to break up their engagement?

To be fair, I did like Nicole Gayle Anderson's performance as Abby. She was cute, likable and relatable. Parker Young as Peter -- not so much. He seemed kind of wooden. It seems to be a trend in rom-coms, where they get an actress who sparkles for the female lead, but just insert some generic guy as the male lead. Someone who might just as well be a talking, robotic version of an Abercrombie and Fitch model. The supporting cast was decent, though. It's interesting that they had Jen Lilley in a minor role here. She's an A-list Hallmark actress, and her talents were kind of wasted here.

Interesting that they did kind of a gender reversal of the typical scenario, where the girl supports the guy and follows him to wherever his dreams take him. I guess the guy could always follow the girl to support her dreams, as in this case. It's also a reversal of the typical rom-com plot, where the girl decides to ditch big city and high-powered career for small-town life and a guy. In this case the girl keeps the career, stays in the big city and the guy has to upend his life for her. High fives among the girl-power crowd, I'm sure. But did it make for a more satisfying or believable story? Or did it just make the guy look like a simp? Your call.

In the final analysis, weak plot points aside, this movie just wasn't that engaging. It seemed to drag quite a bit, and you didn't find yourself becoming that invested in the relationship of the two main characters. That's all we really expect of a rom-com anyway, and this one, sadly, just didn't get it done.
