Isn't a trip to medieval times ten times better than going to the 1950's or 1960's like last season. Just by those choices alone, this season is much more enjoyable than Legends' freshman outing. As I've always said, I embrace the ridiculous with this show. My god it's so ridiculous.
I'm starting to believe that there's absolutely no reason to try and bring Rip back to the good side of things. He's too far gone at this point, and I don't see the point in ruining the current chemistry of the team as it stands right now. But the real problem with Rip's presence on the show is that it makes no sense. Not only has there been a lack of a real explanation as to how he's alive, but his reasoning for going after the spear of destiny makes no sense either. Let me get this straight, Rip joined the JSA in 1956 to find the spear and keep it out of harm's way, correct? They chose to break the spear to ensure its safety, but it took the JSA to different time zones. And now Rip is going through time to get the parts of the spear back? Didn't he make the decision to break the spear into pieces in the first place? Isn't that a bit of a contradiction?
One of the noticeable highlights tonight was the action and CGI. That opening shot of Detroit in 3000 felt like something out of a science fiction film, not a small budgeted TV show. I also liked the bird view shots of the Camelot castle, and don't even get me started on the final battle. Everything from the fight choreography to the lighting and cinematography was bada**. They have really one-upped themselves since last season. When this stuff is firing on all cylinders, I could care less how ridiculous or awful the plot is.
I've never had the fascination for King Arthur and his knights of the round table, but leave it to the Legends to make me smile a few times in a "make believe" world. Ray igniting a "lightsaber"? Rory mind controlling dozens of medieval soldiers? Sara making out with Arthur's wife? Or should I say Sara Lance(a lot)? I mean, I would expect nothing less from this show. Overall, this episode didn't really have any impact on how this season will turn out since Darhk got away and it sure looks like Rip is going to escape next week, but it was fun watching the team travel to Camelot with chaos always right behind them.

+Rip should stay bad
