Babu Bangaram is better renamed as Baboi Bangaram because it is a boring watch with irritating comedy and screenplay.

Babu Bangaram (2016) : Its been a long time since Venkatesh did a full length entertaining role,as he is busy with other projects which are serious subjects.Babu Bangaram marks his re entry into entertaining role and even as a cop.Directed by Maruthi whose last movie Bhale Bhale Magadivoy is a blockbuster. Babu Bangaram is released today amidst huge expectations.How is it??

Plot:

ACP Krishna (Venkatesh) who is a kind-hearted man comes to know of Sailaja (Nayanathara) and her problem. Her father Sastry (JP) is hiding somewhere, as a goon (Sampath) is after him. She runs their family with her catering business and is facing issues. ACP Krishna introduces himself to her as a common man and starts helping her. They develop a bond. But ACP Krishna has another agenda. When she comes to know his real motive, she loses her temper and asks him not to come to near her. What happens then? What is ACP's real motive? Why the goon is after Sailaja's father?

Plus Points:

1)Venkatesh: Venkatesh is the only highlight of Babu Bangaram.As ACP Krishna, he has shown the fitness and tough body. Whenever he has done comedy and lighter moments, the film has worked. His expressions and mannerisms surely remind us vintage Venkatesh.The way he says "ayyo ayyayyo" when he is doing action episodes mimicking his old "Bobbili Raja" dialogue is good but it went overboard as it gets repetitive.

Minus Points:

1)Story Screenplay Direction: Though the plot is rehash of Nagarjun starrer Nirnayam,screenplay of Babu Bangaram is a disaster written in every scene.Its irritating comedy,illogical scenes,overboard performance makes Babu Bangaram a tedious watch.Maruthi failed in every aspect to make an entertaining movie with Venkatesh.He focused much on Venkatesh's mannerisms but forgot about his routine plot and dragging screenplay.

2)Music: Music of Babu Bangaram is poor.Except Babu Bangaram song,others are boring.Even BGM is poor one with nothing new.

3)Duration: Length of 2 hr 30 min is too much for this utterly boring movie.

So,Babu Bangaram is better renamed as Baboi Bangaram because it is a boring watch with irritating comedy and screenplay.

My rating 4.5/10

Fails to entertain completely, but okay to watch a few scenes by skipping.

Babu Bangaram is attempted to be a comedy entertainer and a movie to signify the 30 year movie milestone. It fails to entertain partially with Maruti losing his logical grip on few scenes especially the comedy scenes.

Weak scenes: 1. Brahmanadam's hypnosis- even though the scenes might seem funny, it was ridiculous the way hypnosis was shown. It doesn't make any sense.

2. It was explained by Venkatesh as 'truth' as he describes every detail of what happened with Sastry (Nayanatara's father), Raid officer, Posani and Sampath. But it is depicted as he has deduced all that without even taking help of Sastry, which is nearly impossible.

3. The climax fight with such a shallow reference to "Bobbili Raja" with Venkatesh laughing like crazy was dreadful.

The movie started to depict the hero's character as with too much mercy. That trait seemed to have been exaggerated and didn't work as favor.

Even though the story, a few comedy scenes were good, the movie loses realism because of cinematic references like "Telling about having a duet before duet", " joke told to Vennela Kishore about himself" and self boasters like " First time that hero protects a Villain persuaded by a villain" told by Venkatesh himself, very amateur from such a reputed and successful director like Maruthi.

I am disappointed that I decided to watch this movie trusting Maruthi and Venkatesh without seeing its rating and review. Better skip and watch few scenes which should suffice.

Fails to give a good movie!

Babu bangaram typical storyline and boring screenplay fails to give a good journey. Only a few scenes were good in this movie other than it's a worst of time. Watch only for some of a few comedy scenes.

The best movie of this year and one of the best of this decade

The movie has succeeded in living up to the expectations whether it is entertainment or action. The first part of the movie mainly focuses on entertainment. Venkatesh and Prudhvi are the main characters when it comes to comedy. The second part mixes action and comedy with a good story line. Posani is highlighted in the second half with hilarious comedy. Venkatesh's fights and action scenes are very good. His romance with Nayanathara is also awesome. Nayanathara's performance is real good. The songs added much to the entertainment offered by the movie. The movie contains no explicit scenes or words and is overall a great movie in all aspects.
