As the Summer box office slowly begins to cool off, it may be time for another entry in one of Hollywood’s most lucrative franchises. Now, we’ve got to wait a few more weeks for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment, the much-anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Oh, but you’re very close as this new film is from another ‘branch” of this huge studio “Redwood”. Nope, not that “galaxy far, far away” either. This springs from the fountain that helped form the Disney dynasty. You see, when the MCU began its climb to multiplex majesty, other studios combed their libraries to cultivate their own “multiverse”. Around 2016, the “mouse house” realized they had another series...

The following contains spoilers for Homecoming season 2.
A woman wakes up on a canoe in the middle of a lake, she has no idea who she is or how she got there. She sees a man on shore and screams for help, but instead of offering aid, he runs away. She eventually discovers her name, Jaqueline, on a military ID, and after a run-in with local law enforcement, she sets off to find answers about her identity and present circumstances. So begins Homecoming season 2.
Homecoming‘s first season played with time, revealing its narrative over alternating scenes from past and present. Season two is a little more straightforward, breaking the story up into two blocks that mostly follow a linear progression. Still, it might be helpful to view the events of season 2 in as chronological a way as possible. With that in mind, here is Homecoming season 2, “unfolded.”

Movie theaters in the North America are slowly coming back to life with about 200 locations open as of Friday — nearly double last weekend’s total, Comscore is reporting.
Drive-in movie locations are dominating the landscape with about 150 of the nation’s 306 drive-in locations now open, acccoding to Comscore. About 50 brick-and-mortar locations are now open.
Texas has by far the biggest number of open locations with 29 including several brick-and-mortar locations. Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma and South Dakota — where the state governments have begun easing social distancing requirements stemming from the coronavirus pandemic — have also opened brick-and-mortar locations.
The nation’s three largest chains — AMC, Regal and Cinemark — closed in mid-March as concerns grew about the pandemic. Most theaters are not expected to open until mid-summer with no major releases set to launch until July 17 when Warner Bros. is currently scheduled to open Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet.” Disney plans to open its live-action...

Rising star Mike Beckingham will star in “Waltzing With Brando” alongside Billy Zane, who plays a “Godfather”-era Marlon Brando in the upcoming movie.
Beckingham, younger brother of actor, writer and producer Simon Pegg, will play Bernard Judge in the comedic feature, which is set in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Judge was an idealistic L.A. architect selected by Brando and tasked with building the world’s first ecologically perfect retreat on a tiny Tahitian island that had been thought uninhabitable.
The picture is based upon Judge’s memoir, which recounts his relationship with Brando and his work with the enigmatic star on the designs for the would-be island getaway.
British actor Beckingham’s credits include horror pic “Redwood” and supernatural movie “Black Site.” In 2020 he will be seen in “The Host,” with Derek Jacobi and Dutch actor Maryam Hassouni, and British sci-fi film “G-Loc” alongside Stephen Moyer...

One of three editors on Sam Esmail’s Homecoming, Rosanne Tan was asked to tap into the visual and sonic style of “paranoid thriller movies [from] the past,” working within a broad conceptual framework set by Esmail, while trying to surprise him with the choices she made.
Based on a podcast by co-creators Micah Bloomberg and Eli Horowitz, the series is set at Homecoming, a facility claiming to help soldiers in their transition back to civilian life. Cutting back and forth between two time periods, the half-hour drama’s focal point is Heidi (Julia Roberts), a social worker at the facility who comes to intuit a much more sinister agenda on the part of her employer.
Cutting four episodes of Homecoming, Tan played a pivotal role in shaping the series’ tone and visual style. After working on the third season of Mr. Robot, the editor knew Esmail’s preference for unconventional,...

Music supervisor Maggie Phillips had her hands full on “Homecoming” and “The Umbrella Academy,” but for very different reasons. When director Sam Esmail insisting on using only pre-existing classic soundtracks to score his conspiracy thriller, Phillips found herself in uncharted territory, which turned into a licensing nightmare. And even though the series about an adopted sibling superhero rivalry offered a more conventional challenge, Phillips was still keen on pushing the nostalgic factor in fresh musical ways.
“All of my projects before [‘Homecoming’] I’ve chosen songs and editors are temping in score, and then the composer comes in and replaces,” Phillips said. “And sometimes I’ll help with the temp score, but that’s not very common. But Sam wanted all pre-existing soundtracks as cues [to evoke the paranoia vibe] of ‘All the President’s Men,’ ‘Klute,’ and ‘The Conversation,’ and then that list got expanded and changed out of necessity because of the licensing...

“Sam wants us to be as unconventional as possible, but then yes, there are storytelling-type of rules that we stick to,” Rosanne Tan tells Gold Derby in an exclusive interview (watch the video above) about editing under director and executive producer Sam Esmail. They are working “for most of this year” on the upcoming final season of “Mr. Robot” for USA and Tan teases, “It’s going to be amazing.”
SEEco-creator Eli Horowitz tease next season.
She contends at the 2019 Emmys for her work on “Homecoming” for Amazon Prime. Although she cut both its pilot and finale, Tan has instead submitted the episode titled “Redwood” for Best Drama Editing consideration, having already been nominated by the American Cinema Editors for that fourth episode of the debut season. The Eddie Award nominee explains, “It was a good combo of everything. I love how the story was told with the medicine and I had fun with that.

Both Amazon Prime’s “Homecoming” and Netflix’s “Russian Doll” provocatively play with the 30-minute format, cramming their existential journeys with confusing timelines and visual detail. But, thanks to binge watching, the two shows actually function like long movies, according to editors Rosanne Tan (“Homecoming”) and Laura Weinberg (“Russian Doll”).
In “Homecoming,” the ’70s-style conspiracy thriller from director Sam Esmail (“Mr. Robot”), social worker Heidi (Julia Roberts) tries to help troubled soldiers transition back to civilian life in one timeline (shot in a wide aspect ratio), while attempting to solve the strange mystery of her memory loss as a result of a nefarious plot in a future timeline (shot in a shorter aspect ratio). And, in “Russian Doll,” the black comedy from showrunner/star Natasha Lyonne, her self-absorbed software engineer, Nadia, repeatedly dies on her 36th birthday in a “Groundhog Day”-like loop, only to discover fellow traveler, Alan (Charles Barnett), also stuck in time.

Ahead of Horror Channel’s UK TV premiere of Redwood, director Tom Paton reveals the secrets of his prolific work-rate, talks about tackling the subject of fake news and the twists and turns of his new film Stairs.
Redwood gets its UK TV premiere on Friday 8th February, courtesy of Horror Channel. Excited or what?
Honestly, I’m so proud that Redwood has made its way onto Horror Channel. I’ve been a huge fan since the channel launched and over the past decade I’ve discovered so many horror gems on there from classic through to films I’d never heard of but now love. It feels incredible to know that someone might discover Redwood in the exact same way.
Is it true you wrote the script in two days?

Stars: Luke D’Silva, Jade Hobday, Marc Zammit, Adam Bond, Bentley Kalu, Amed Hashimi, Laura Marie Howard, Adam Ford, Macaulay Callard | Written and Directed by Tom Paton
I had no real expectations going into Pandorica and I came out of it very pleasantly surprised by Tom Paton’s genre busting futuristic dystopian, sci-fi horror, suspense, action-filled tale of what happens when humanity is devolved into its most basic instincts. Well I did say this film was genre busting! One of the best things about Pandorica is that you really can’t put it in any bracket (no matter how hard you try for the purpose a review).
Set somewhere in the future we meet a small group of Natives from the Varosha tribe. Tribe leader Nus (Luke D’Silva) has brought his three bravest and best to take part in a Violent trial to determine who should be leader of the Tribe when Nus expires.
