Documentary storytelling at its best

I watched this film with a level of interest in mountain biking, after all I am a child of the 80's and have witnessed the rise in popularity of the mountain bike. However, having watched the film I discovered it tells an incredible untold inspirational story regarding Mountain Biking in Britain but along with this story, many personal stories that make the film come alive.

It tells a story of individuals and the unique contributions they make, of passion, of hope and of not settling for the norm.

The documentary therefore becomes a lesson not only in Mountain Biking but in the art of storytelling.

After the film I was informed but more than that inspired!

great documentary on the British contribution to mountain biking

Warning: Spoilers
I already knew some of the history, but this was a really entertaining and informative insight into the UK contribution to MTB, which is often thought to be an entirely US development. Well done! I grew up in Hertfordhire in the 1980s entirely oblivious as to what was going on around me and although we thrashed out bikes in the local woods, I didn't really get into Mountainbiking proper till university in the very late 80s and early 90s. The documentary shows how influential the UK was and still is, particularly leading the way with trail-center development. As well as producing some classic and innovative bike designs that are more oriented towards muddy UK conditions than dry SoCal conditions. Do I have to write any more blurb to get this published? otherwise Im just going to give up!

If you love your sport or hobby must watch

OK so every one thinks MTBing was a US thing . This Film helps to blow that away . While the 26 inch movement was US based this shows how British riders and companies have shaped and progressed the sport further than any other country . From Geoff Apps (one of my design heroes) to Mr Peaty himself it opens up the rest of the world to how the little island opened up the possibilities of what bikes can do . how off road riding was integral to UK life from before the 1980s and how it was the UK riders from the 1980s showed what bikes can do and do it in style . After watching this film go and find Dirt 1 to watch then chainspotting .
