Going Over His Head
Hitchcoc14 July 2019
Kirkland is having enough trouble learning on the job. It doesn't help if those around him begin to undermine him with false reports and expectations. The business of Kirkland about to be fired by the now dead President is big. Also, the video of a terrorist taking credit for the Capitol bombing chips away. And, finally, the other designated survivor, that woman with the weird name and the serpent's tongue has political ambitions and can't give him a brief chance to get his feet on the ground. 9/11 keeps getting mentioned. Imagine if there had been an effort at that time to undermine the President. Of course, there is a narrative hook at the end of this episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Who can you trust is the main thrust of episode 3. President Kirkland seems to have made a mistake at the episode's end by his choice of Chief of Staff? Who is the mystery lady that they were passing information to?

Mother discovers that the son has been dealing drugs and the lights go out in the White House when the president's computer is hacked.

Our designated congresswoman seems to be going behind the scenes to thwart Kirkland. Even the dead president's son doesn't allow Kirkland to speak at his father's funeral but our lady does. Furthermore, she already knows that primary season is a mere 2 1/2 years away.

Things are quiet in Michigan and our new president is beginning to remind me of Harry Truman with his ability to use profanity.
