So easy to solve you will blush Pink

Warning: Spoilers
What is the cumbersome equipment Crabtree and Higgins are wearing now? Crabtree suggests "Trackizer," but Murdoch says no as there is no such word as "Trackizer." Murdoch's latest invention allows users to follow someone who unknown to them is "wearing" a bug allowing them to be followed from a considerable distance, as long as they are moving that is. No matter what it is, we know before the episode is over it will be needed.

Murdoch's friend, private detective Freddie Pink, believes she has found a murder scene; and Murdoch's ultraviolet light suggests she is correct. Pink claims she was hired by Kenneth Spokes to locate and deliver a letter to a James Smith. However, if there was a murder, it seems all the clues point to Freddie Pink as the possible killer. The letter is a blank sheet of paper. People can identifier Pink as following and visiting James Smith. All fingermarks found are those belonging to Pink. And if Smith was killed, then where is his son J.J. who was living with him? And yet it turns out she can recognize the man she says she does not know; there are pictures of the man in her files which she claims she has never seen before; she has no alibi for the time of the alleged murder; and she flunks Murdoch's Ttruthizer or autonomic response indicator as he prefers to call it.

Turns out James Smith is really Joe Murphy. And Pink knows Joe Murphy and was involved with him when both were in Montreal. Her friend Molly Murphy wanted a divorce from Joe Murphy because she discovered he had a criminal background. It is suggested he killed his wife and then he fled to Toronto with his son. The police in Toronto report that Pink was known to harass the Murphys; and they had threatened to kill Pink because of it. So, did Pink find Murphy in Toronto, kill him, and now have his son hidden away somewhere? Murdoch discovers Joe's mother is in Toronto using the name Mrs. Smith. And it keeps getting worse, the "Notorious" Ma Murphy Smith identifies Frankie as the woman who killed her son.

Murdoch is somewhat stumped because he knows in his heart that Pink is innocent but why is she being framed? As to the alleged crime scene, it seems that the crime scene in Toronto may be fake.

Now we come to the raison d'etre for this episode: using the tracker to find follow Pink and hoping it will lead Murdoch and the police to the missing boy, and to the answers to what has been going on. Keep your eyes open, as the average fan will spot the missing son before Murdoch does and know all the answers to the mystery before the final revelation.

Not the best in the series but still enjoyable for word play between Murdoch and Pink during an interrogation; the introduction of a new Murdoch technological leap; and it's nice to see private detective Pink make another appearance.
