I started watching this because of my mom. My mom loves watching tv shows and probably even more since I have moved out the house. She has her Netflix and Disney +, but I recommended her to get Prime. On that streaming platform she found The Handmaid's Tale to watch. My mom quickly became hooked and I had to give it a chance.
You have an idea of what to expect when you read the synopsis of the tv show, but nothing comes close to how ''rough'' and difficult it is at times to watch. Maybe it is difficult because of the likeliness that this could happen.
The show is rough....
It is female-unfriendly, it is anti-gay and a lot of other things. But the one thing that I did find comfort in watching is the bond some of them have with each other.
Without spoiling it too much, this is a very strong series with a strong cast and a story that literally has never been told like this before. With the ending of the first season I am curious of what will happen next!
