Spoilers,Wishes and Fantasies!
DemoChristian1 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Since a youth spent watching soap opera as my Mother nursed me through whatever virus kept me from attending school, I have seen the dead resurrected in numerous ways. After the soaps came my addiction to comic books. Returning the dead for the comics was easier than for even George Romero. But the latest creation in this week's Agents Of Shield(or Agents Of Hydra, if you must)has found what must be the most novel way of bringing a character back to life. And, my wife demands, of redeeming the thoroughly irredeemable Grant Ward. In an attempt to Pinocchio herself Aida has produced the means to bring into existence characters that only exist in the Framework. And three inhabitants may be vying for the attempt to replace Aida and Ivanov as new flesh creations in the real world. 1) Hope Mackenzie, daughter of Mack and the reason he might be willing to do anything for her to return. 2) Holden Radcliffe, creator of the Framework, Aida and Loki-level troublemaker. 3) Grant Ward. Sure, he's already returned from death once, but fans love him and have been waiting for his redemption since season 1! And in the back of it all the viewer must ask if the other protagonists will ever be able to accept Fitz once they are free from the Framework. Or has his actions and attitudes revealed by their time inside forever tainted him? This episode was exciting and extremely well directed(that continuous shot at the beginning made me think of Joss Whedon!). But the way it setup future conflict/hope upgraded it from good to great!

Why'd I have to miss one?

Warning: Spoilers
Well, I didn't get to see last week's episode, but I did see this one and it was really good. The best thing about this episode is probably Aida's role. It's revealed that one of the big things she's planning is to actually use this technology to create a flesh body for herself. It's weird and yet quite sincere to see this version of Fitz legitimately care for her. It's probably one of the more awesome scenes in these episodes when Aida is thrown out of the building. We end on a great note too, as Agent (or should I just call him Phil?) Coulson uses a broadcast to tell everyone that Hydra is evil.

There's a lot of satisfaction in him showing off his SHIELD badge. It's great to see all these characters again, especially with Ward on the good side. We do get some pretty intense scenes seeing as how certain characters come off as more sympathetic. I admit that there wasn't really that much that happened in this episode. Of course, I love this show so much it would be very hard for me not to recommend any episode. Still, we're advancing with the story and we should see what develops. ***1/2

Fun and powerful

This episode is a nonstop thrill ride with an ending that really packs a punch. Many arcs are wonderfully resolved and we get even more of a look into new sides of characters.

Re-watch thoughts

"My name is Phil Coulson, and I am an agent of shield" chills! this episode really showed the power of the framework narrative device, we have new takes on our characters but it is not a gimmick, it has a theme, about being a product of your circumstances and choices, we see that with Coulson, Fitz, May and Ward, it's all well written and meaningful, except maybe for the part where Ward loves a Hydra agent but she's the one who made him believe he can be a good person? I;m unclear on that but otherwise I like how the way the characters evolved in the framework based on the changes done to their lives. It is also really fun to have Trip back, what a ray of sunshine!

Another snoozer
snake-9661526 April 2017
After last week's fairly exciting entry; we got another snoozing filler episode where nothing happened. Oh except Road Runner cartoon action where May leaped at full, assault rifle firing goons in a ridiculous side twisting somersault that has to be seen and still not believed. Her siding with Shield after being a cold stone killer for several episodes is just ridiculous. But then May has always been a terrible character in whatever incarnation she portrays. As usual the only saving grace was Daisy and the only good scene in the entire ep was her chucking out the fembot through the several stories up window. The second half of this season has been mediocre and undeserving of the high ratings the episodes have received. Probably deluded fans who are sweating heavily over the possible termination of this usually mediocre series and trying to trick viewers to watch.
