Mack is So Self Righteous It Drives Me Crazy
tvdefrancesco30 December 2020
I've been trying to hold out but I can't any longer. Mack is the worst character on the show. He is so self righteous. Questioning everyone else's motives but his own. Now he's going at my boy Fitz over technology. When Mack has used Fitz's tech multiple times to save himself. I can't stand Mack. I hope he takes a bullet really soon. Get him off the show. He's such a loser. Elena deserves better and he knows it. He's a big pansy. And the most self righteous hypocrite character I've ever seen.

Oh, I get it

Warning: Spoilers
Agent Coulson and May seem to have more of a developing romance in this and I admit that it is still pretty awkward. I actually understand it now. This episode was aired on Valentine's Day! I do kind of doubt that this relationship was rushed out for the holiday. This episode doesn't really get that good until the very end. It has the major implication that all of the other characters except for Fitz and Simmons being replaced by robot duplicates. I like how most of this episode takes place in Russia. It's nice to see go back to Fitz and Simmons.

I admit that it is a little hard to follow, but I haven't been keeping track of all of the episodes quite as much as I used to. That can be hard when there's so much going on. The action was about as good as any other episode. I can still appreciate these characters and am more eager to find out what happens next. Aida works well as an evil robot. Well, I guess she still mostly lacks emotions, but that probably just makes it all the more convincing. ***1/2

Re-watch thoughts

Another great episode, I remember at first I felt the superior was a lame villain, but this episode kinda makes it seem intentional, as Coulson ridicules him for his conspiracy theories. and considering where his character goes from here I think it all works. I loved the flashbacks in this episode, even though they aren't as effective as other flashbacks the show has done, they are really fun. The episode ends on a huge cliffhanger, setting the stage for arguable the best episode of the show! on re-watch I noticed a lot of the details I missed the first time about how certain events took place. the whole thing is subtle and the clues are all there. this is one episode that really demonstrate the writers willingness to trust the audience to pick up clues and not feel the need to explian every detail for us.
