Good and surreal

Hey, everybody! I feel so bad for not looking up sooner when new episodes of this show were made so I actually missed out on a lot of new episodes. At least I'm here to review them again! It's weird how this episode already has 4 critic reviews, but I'm the only user for it. Well, maybe it was critic reviews for the entire show? Anyway, this episode is great as always probably because it's one of the most surreal episodes. This episode features Agent May being caught in a simulation over and over again by the robot Aida.

We kept seeing her wake up again and again and try to escape from her captors. The best part is probably how it's really hard to tell what's real and what isn't. We even get some really powerful action scenes here. I was surprised at how bloody this got! It's also great to see Fitz and Simmons now in a true romantic relationship. Watch this for how creative it is and how much effort they're willing to put in an action scene. While I missed some stuff, I think I'm still mostly caught up. ***1/2

Re-watch thoughts

Once again, the show delivers an awesome episode, this season is firing on all cylinders! Though in the name of fairness, when I first watched this episode I didn't think of it as highly, because a lot of it is set up that gets pay off in later episodes, so it didn't feel satisfying right away, this true for Mack's story more than most, but also May's , Talbot and Fitz's scenes took a whole new meaning when you know what is being set up..so it is very hard to judge the episode on its own. Even without hindsight, there is much to love about it, the Talbot & Coulson dynamic is still iconic, Ming Na killed it this episode, she's just so good, and the last scene in the episode is just heartbreaking and really brings the character of May a full circle, I think she shines in s4 as a whole, despite it being more subtle than other characters in the forefront, but it's hard to deny how influential the character is to the events.
