The Invoking Paranormal Dimensions: Best one yet, but that's not saying much
Platypuschow3 November 2018
Suffice to say I was not impressed with the first two Invoking movies. The first was a highly lacklustre generic unoriginal horror and the second was a very underwhelming anthology piece.

Well part 3 follows in part 2's footsteps, exactly in fact. Several short stories ranging from ghosts to odd little creatures to the lady in white to an evil underground cult.

What alarmed me was the IMDB rating, the first has an incredibly low score, the second very low and this one...............incredibly high. I mean at time of writing it's 7.4, a film only needs around 8.0 to get into the IMDB top 250 (Though needs more votes).

So, is the quality that much better? Well, a bit but not THAT much. It's certainly the best movie of the franchise thus far but alike the previous it's still a very mixed bag. Thankfully some of the stories are perfectly watchable while others leave you wondering quite what the point was.

It's oddly created, almost as if it's a series of short films made by different people all put together to make the movie. In fact I'm pretty sure that's what has happened. American, Mexican, Russian and English can all be found here.

It has it's moments which is more than can be said about the previous movies but without a severe overhaul or a big injection of funds I don't see the remaining movies being any better.

The Good:

Certainly an improvement

Has some passable ideas

The Bad:

More misses than hits

Some really quite poor stuff

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

Separation of church and state really seems to be a dead concept to many

Why did you kill them?

Warning: Spoilers
"Invoking 3" is an anthology of nine stories done in 81 minutes. It is directed and written by Lee Matthews who gave us a similar anthology in "The Horror Network Volume 1." Why this isn't volume 2 is a mystery to me. The first feature is a found footage and may turn off viewers. The next two are not found footage, but are rather short and pointless as was two of the features. I did enjoy two features: One was about a child kidnapped by a creature in Kansas. The second was "The Lady in White" with English subtitles. The Jack-in-the-box has already been done. The hop-scotch sequence would make for a good feature film. Some of the features have twists and irony, but not all.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

a handful of throwaway ideas

This is boring, hands down. none of the clips stand on their own, and theres no theme holding the collection together. the amount of filler within each short is amazing. its a tedious watch, i completely zoned out for the last few vignettes - though its hard to ignore a five minute clip that seems completely based on horrible, loud sound effects. this is only for hardcore horror shorts fans, and friends of the cast & crew

Bad movie? WORST movie!

I'd give this pile of steaming garbage a 0 if IMDb would let me. Starts out with NO trailers...(RED FLAG) then starts showing clips of short, stupid movies involving NO acting, plot and out of control language (RED FLAG). PLEASE don't rent this. I rented this from Redbox and trust me. I already miss my $1.61 from my checking account. Instead, put $.39 cents to that $1.61 and buy a 2 dollar scratch off ticket and maybe win some money. If you lose...STILL better than watching this complete disappointment of a movie. I just can't say enough bad things about this movie. IMDb gave it a 3.4. WOW. Generous much? I'm stunned by this rating...even more stunned by the fact that this script got a green light to whoever the fool was who paid for this. Dear god. DON'T rent this!

Lame.

I don't know how the rating for this is above 5.0, but it's dead wrong. There has obviously been a lot of score tampering with this snore fest filled with amateur mini-stories edited into one long hour and 15 minutes of "artistic" style amateur clips that have no beginning, middle or end. Its just quick flashes of whatever. Perhaps the intent is to let the viewer imagine how it's all supposed to make some lick of sense, but it's not clever or interesting enough for any viewer to care about doing so.

Well...

Well I rented this movie thinking it would be halfway decent and I was terribly wrong. I'm 15 min into the movie and decided to watch paint dry instead of finish this movie. I really cant even come up with 10 lines for this movie its not worth the time so here's some numbers.Well I rented this movie thinking it would be halfway decent and I was terribly wrong. Boring
gurumaggie5 December 2020
It's a stupid, stupid film don't watch it, it just encourages them to make more garbage like this.

It starts off poorly and plummets to absolute mince, if a child was in danger why would you leave it alone? How the participants manage to walk and chew gum at the same time baffles me.

Fairly decent effort
jjturley21 March 2017
This "movie" is really a collection of different shorts that are not related to each other. Some stories are quite brief (lasting a few minutes) and others much longer. All of them deal with the supernatural in some way. There were at least a half dozen different stories.

Interestingly, two stories are in foreign languages. The first, 'The Lady in White' deals with an urban legend in Venezuela. The subtitles were helpful, to be sure. The second, 'She is not my Sister' deals with something out of this world in the Czech Republic. The subtitles for the second one were small and difficult to read.

I enjoyed watching this. Not surprisingly, I enjoyed some of them more than others.
