When Eleanor looks at her horoscope in a magazine, it says "LUCKY NUMBERS: 1, 23, 58"; after she dies, she's sent to Neighborhood 12358W. 1,2,3,5,8 are the first five numbers generated in the Fibonacci sequence (after the starting values 0,1).
When Eleanor grabs a magazine ("Celebrity Baby Plastic Surgery Disasters" - which Michael references as the magazine she is reading when she dies in a previous episode) in the opening scene, another magazine cover ("International Sophisticate") featuring Tahani can be seen, reading "British Socialite: Tahani Al Jamil - Not Just Kamilah's Sister." Tahani is holding a dove, much like the one she drew for her parents. The back of Eleanor's magazine has a an advertisement for Glyde by Dennis Feinstein, the fragrance entrepreneur in Parks and Recreation (2009), also created by Michael Schur. The image in the ad is a single otter, which is a callback to the Pilot, when Michael plays the welcome video and promises the afterlife will be as warm and fuzzy as the feeling everyone gets when they see otters holding hands.
"My Way" by Frank Sinatra plays over the opening scene, depicting the moments leading up to Eleanor's death. Showrunner Michael Schur explained that the song is "a paean to the idea of selfishness, it's a man celebrating his lack of empathy, and so that was the song we picked for the soundtrack for her selfish life".
When Michael brings frozen yogurt for Tahani and Chidi, he explains this is because there's no Janet here to serve them, so he even dresses like Janet.
