World and character development

Is it strange to say that I hate two of the main characters (Jim and Naomi) while not being a fan of a third (Alex), yet absolutely love this show. Every other character is intriguing and seems real to me, from Bobbie in this one, Cotyar (who grows in this episode, even with the relatively minor screen time), Amos, Chrisjen and Sadavir, to even the newest, Dr. Meng (biologist).

Season 1 Episode 4 gave us our first real insight into Martian culture and I loved that episode. This episode gives us a real look at how Earth is and how it works outside of the UN that we have seen.

Overall, this episode moved a lot of little plots and characters ahead. I really liked it.

Flawed writing but some great moments

I would just like to express my appreciation for Bobbie's character. There's something about her that makes her very likable. Though there were some flawed things about this episode, I would say they are only notable due to the overall high quality of writing for the Expanse. This show has been very gripping thus far, and I rarely get this immersed when watching things these days. Just one question: how did they get a picture of the weapon?

Hank Williams!!

Bobbie continues to be exploited, but her being a marine comes into play here. Big admissions are made that set things up for the next step. The crew continues to investigate Ganymede and finds a guy who is a scrounger and who uses his people finding skills to gain access to lots of loot. The botanist makes a serious discovery as the shipmates look for his daughter. Lots of rather sad stuff going on here.

Yippee Ki Ay Alex!

Warning: Spoilers
Excellent series. I never cared for Stagate, Battlestar, or any Star Trek save for the original. This series has a vast landscape both plot and character-wise. In this episode, I love Alex getting ripped and listening to Hank Williams while he's waiting solo in the Roci. Freakin' Hank Williams in space is awesome and funny as hell!

Why why why do you have to let such terrible unrealistic writing into an otherwise great episode?

Warning: Spoilers
Woman who has never stepped foot on earth grow up in one-third Earth gravity and spent most of her life in zero gravity falls out of a two-story building unscathed and then rolls down another four stories and lands on a concrete floor and gets up and runs away with no broken bones. You could have easily had her window be closer to the ground but you put this ridiculous nonsense in and I don't understand what goes through writers heads with crap like this
