Go save the world if you think you can, I'll settle for helping a few of the poor souls who have to live in it!!

'The Expanse' is expanding. I must say this show is a little underrated . The episode doesn't have any big surprise or breathtaking moments, but the story moves forward with ease. The pacing is perfect and the performances are up to the mark. There are quite a number of new characters introduced in second season and we come to know them more in each episode that goes by, that's a characteristic of a good show.

Though the episode feels more like a bridge, it never gets boring and doesn't have a single dull moment. Our Roci crew is getting closer to what they are looking for, but you never know what's in plate for them. Waiting for next episode already.

Key episode

The Weeping Somnambulist is a key episode for the vibe of The Expanse thus far.

No Hollywood endings here. Excellent acting and thoughtful plot points carry this through sections of the episode without action sequences. Impressive character development for even minor players.

The crew discover that good intentions aren't enough and not even interpreted as such.

For those who found this episode dull, go watch a Star Wars move. Folks, character development and screenplay detail is needed for an enduring series like this. I'm sure the rewards will come for viewers who have invested intently in the rich texture of this yarn.

Smug, Smug, Smug

Once again the leadership on Earth has enough firepower to intimidate other civilizations. Things ramp up because of the events on Ganymede. The Martians agree to put the blame on one of theirs in order to appease the Earthers. They are avoiding the reality of an alien presence. Those smug entitled people at the UN are full of themselves. Meanwhile, we focus on a clandestine effort by the Roci crew to infiltrate Ganymede, using cargo ship that they have commandeered. There are some sad implications as they attempt to find another incarnation of the bioweapon.

A build up episode

Warning: Spoilers
This review contains spoilers.

The Expanse's ninth episode of the second season is entitled 'The Weeping Somnambulist'. The point-of-view characters that are followed embark on various journeys. Bobbie is giving testimony that the Martian government had started firing first at Ganymede. The Rocinante crew are on the way to Jupiter and commandeer another ship.

The Weeping Somnambulist is more of a filler episode in this second season. There are not many significant events other than to show the crew of the Rocinante off. The episode could have been quicker paced. There are some nice scenes in Bobbie Draper's testimony that deserve a watch. The rest of the episode does not offer much in the overall narrative of The Expanse.

I would recommend the ninth episode of the second second of The Expanse.

Grade: C.

OK episode, but far from great

Greetings from Lithuania.

The second season of "The Expanse" is an uneven season. Uneven in its writing, settings, special effects and story. Story is surely the best thing in this show overall, but everything else can be very good in one episode, and feel like a "filter" in next episode. "The Weeping Somnambulist", 9th episode in season 2 felt unfortunately more like "filter" episode then anything great. The most memorable scene was at earth during the conversation and questioning of the one who survived the attack (i can't even remember her name honestly). Everything else i will forget in a few next minutes after seeing this episode.

Overall, i kinda enjoy "The Expanse" for great story, but this is a very uneven show and this episode proves it. Maybe they spent most of the seasons budget on "Home, best episode this show has ever produced. I will check the remaining 4 episodes, but i do not look forward to see them very much to be honest.
