Mitchum on His Career
The Brawn Behind 'Faceless' (2004)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
The "brawn" of the movie FACELESS is actor Christopher Mitchum who is interviewed for this thirty-plus minute featurette, which features the actor talking about not only the Jess Franco film but other aspects of his career. Mitchum gets to talk for a great while and we're given all sorts of great details as he talks about why he got into acting, his legendary father and various other films that he acted in. He talks about how working with John Wayne hurt his career at one point and he also discusses the somewhat dangerous shoot for TUSK. Of course, the main discussion here is the film FACELESS and the actor talks about how he got hired, what it was like working with Franco and tells a rather hilarious story dealing with a mix-up on his hotel room. If you're a fan of the film then you'll certainly enjoy all the stories that Mitchum tells but this interview is great because the actor gets to talk about his entire career. He certainly comes across as a very cool guy and manages to keep you interested throughout the running time.
