Doctors Shines!
Mao12313 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
In a world where medical dramas seem to be as common as a penny on the street, Doctors, also known as Doctor Crush, manages to shine. The main character, Yoo Hye Jung, is the poor tortured soul and certified bad girl during her childhood. After falling in love with her teacher Ji Hong, the same teacher that her friend Seo Woo is harboring feelings for, she decides to turn her checkered past around and dreams of becoming a doctor. However, once Seo Woo jealously spreads rumors about their love in school, coupled with the passing of Hye Jung's grandmother due to a botched surgery performed by Seo Woo's father, there seems to be no hope of Hye Jung turning her life around. Years go by and Hye Jung has become a doctor and is assigned to a hospital, the same hospital where her former friend Seo Woo and her past love Ji Hong work. Not to mention Seo Woo's father who is making moves to grab full control of the hospital. However, this is all part of Hye Jung's plan to expose the medical malpractice of Seo Woo's father and finally get justice for her beloved grandmother.

There are several reasons this drama is so refreshing. To put it simply, Hye Jung kicks butt. Hye Jung proves that she can take care of herself. Never running from a fight and being able to survive in less than ideal conditions, Hye Jung is certainly a fighter and a strong female character in the realm of Korean dramas. In addition, this story takes a different approach to relationships and dating and deviates from the classic script of on again off again, external factors are keeping the OTP apart. This drama actually shows the realistic relationship between Hye Jung and Ji Hong and the trials they go through, the relationship's development, and the hardships each person faces while trying to stay devoted to each other. Top it all off with good cinematography, a great plot, and a great cast of characters and great performances, you will want to know what happens next at the end of each episode. This show is definitely a must see.

The unresolved past always finds you again.
alaningle78 December 2020
The series revolves around a hospital neurology department and involves the stories of the doctors and patients who attend. The two leads of the series are both doctors with an unresolved past and their tentative steps into a relationship are believable and engaging. The stories are often heartbreaking but also heart warming as death, despair and the jubilation of a successful surgery bring a warmth to viewing. A well written and well acted series which is well worth a viewing.

Not sure who this is aimed at ?

Lets address the elephant in he room first. In the series. Rae-won Kim is sid to be 9 years older than. Park Shin-Hye (though he look solder) and he first tries to date her at school whilst being her teacher! Not acceptable,

I didn't feel much chemistry between them - though Park Shin-Hye did her best, ass usual (including the action scenes).

The supporting actors were ok and did their bit. The overall story was rather boring but the individual stories were good, if a bit gory for family viewing.

Park Shin-Hye had great outfits and the music and production was well done. Just not sure who this was aimed at.

The Title that doesn't do justice to the show

Damn,Shin-Hye Park - She made me cry everytime she cried without fails, What an actress that absolutely conducts all the emotion she feels towards the viewers. First four episode lays the foundation pretty well and there is always a melancholy back of my mind when i watch each episode as if i am part of their lives. I always admired Korean shows for the power they have to take us through the roller coaster ride on emotions and this was no different. This is a show i would watch over and and over again for the love chemistry the lead pair shares. PS: Shin-Hye Park acting made me watch all the shows and movies she is in.

What? What? What?

Warning: Spoilers
In episode 18 Hye-Jung goes to Myung-hoon's (the hospital director's) office, confronts him and tells him that she is going to kill him. If you are going to kill someone, you dont tell them. If you are not going to kill someone, then you dont say you are. Either way, you dont say it unless you are a total moron. What sane person says things like that, never mind a neurosurgeon? Right there, I dropped the show from an 8 to a 6 star rating. Really, what possessed the script writers to add that in. I have to imagine that even the actor knew it was just plain stupid. If they wanted the chairman to have leverage on her surely they could have come up with something much better that made sense. That stupidity on the part of the script writers ruined the whole series for me. Loved it up to that point.

My Love Park Shin Hye
waqarsamar29 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This is on top of the best Korean dramas I watched and loved from the bottom of my heart.Park Shin Hye's performance is great. This drama tells how a woman became strong because of brutality upon her. Yoo Hye- Jung's mother died when she was little. She became good at fighting so that no one can underestimate her. She lived at her grandmother and became good at study. When her grandmother died because of a doctor's mistake, she became a doctor to take revenge.

Love PSH !

A typical medical drama

Male lead is too mature. Plot is not new for medical dramas. No complaints on acting though.

"The unresolved past always finds you again whether its love or hatred"

Warning: Spoilers
I like Park Shin Hye/Dr. Yoo Hye Jung in here she is so good at fighting and its just the first episode. I have never even seen her in a role like this before. So exciting and fun. Lots of actors in here that I have seen before so it must be good.

She has a lovely Nana Kim Young Ae/Kang Mal Soon, Hye Jung's grandmother (ep.1-3)who loves her.

Park Shin Hye/Dr. Yoo Hye Jung has got the street smarts and her friend Lee Sung Kyung/Dr. Jin Seo Woo has got the brain who going to help her study. Their other friend is fun and friendly Moon Ji In/Chun Soon Hee, Hye Jung's best friend but not as brainy as the other two. Chun Soon Hee becomes her friend for life.

Isn't it sad when sometimes it's only our grandma that loves us. All my growing up years my grandma was already old but she loved me the most. She carried me for miles on her back. She taught me how to ride a horse. I slept with her all the time she was with me and she just loved me. I miss her. She wasn't beautiful but for me she had a heart of gold. Everything she did was for me. When she was 70 she was still riding her horse then she got bone cancer and died when she was 80.

She saved the first Lee Sung Kyung/Dr. Jin Seo Woo girls life but she caused her problems because of her jealousy. This would continue in their adulthood but Dr. Yoo Hye Jung had only gratefulness in her heart for Dr. Jin Seo Woo because she taught her how to study, without her help in her early years she would not have achieved so much.

Park Shin Hye/Dr. Yoo Hye Jung a most remarkable, tallented and intelligent woman that started as a street fighting hooligan into an extraordinary neuro surgeon. Without help from others she worked her way up the hierarchy of doctors through sheer determination and guts. It was her experiences as a teenager that transformed her from that hot tempered child to the caring, compassionate doctor. First her learning experiences with Kim Rae Won/Prof. Hong Ji Hong a clever, warm hearted and sympathetic teacher and the death of her kind and indulgent grandmother, Kim Young Ae/Kang Mal Soon, Hye Jung's grandmother (ep.1-3, they were the ones that impelled her to change her life.

She was never close to her dad Jung Hae Kyun/Yoo Min Ho, Hye Jung's father whom she blamed for the death of her mother. As a teenager he was cold and uncaring towards her so he reaped her anger, aloofness and indifference when she was an adult. She never wanted to be or tried to be close to him. This hurt him as he didn't understand what he had done to her as a child. Reminds me of me and my youngest daughter. We are not close. She believes that I hurt her emotions as a child.

My recommendation for this drama, I enjoyed her life story and her growing love for the man who fell in love with her when she was so young. She was in his heart the moment she came into his life. He tried to run away from it but fate brought them back together 13 years later.

The filming and cinematology are outstanding, beautiful night shots of the city. The kissing scenes are delightful and the filming of them clear and well positioned. I love the scenes of them dancing in the rain, walking in the park and bike riding.

Outstanding acting from the actors and those two little sick boys(Go Woo Rim/Nam Hae, Ba Ram's son (Ep.13-14)and Jeon Jin Seo/Nam Dal, Ba Ram's son (Ep.13-14) stole my heart, so cute and talented.

This is a drama the whole family will enjoy even those there is lot of blood in the operation scenes.

31 January 2022 I'm watching this again. It's still so very good.

Oh the Chemistry!
klara-persson10 September 2020
OK. So this series has to be described in more than one way. As a medical drama it is so so. As a romantic drama it is better but not perfect. But when it Comes to the chemistry between the two main characters this drama has one of the most amazing one out of all K-dramas I watched. The chemistry is palpable and the attraction between the leads is constantly steaming. If you Ask me this makes watching this series worthwhile. Don't misunderstand, I liked this drama, I really did. It's just not the best drama I've ever watched. But the tension between the two main leads does the trick and takes this series to another level!

Uber disappointing after a great start
trangcao-4379628 March 2023
The first few episodes were really good. It got me hooked right away and I even made my husband watch it with me. Then it just got worse and worse. This girl Hye-jung suddenly turns from a strong, bad-assed character into a gentle, reserved girl which doesn't stay true to how she presents herself at the beginning. There is no chemistry whatsoever between the two leads, their convos are wishy-washy of no depth at all. If they do ever get married I bet they'll eventually divorce due to being bored to death by one another. And this is personal but I hate how she has one side of hair in front of her shoulder and the other side at the back ALL THE TIME. Just looks really overdone and fake.

Overall also amazingly bad acting. Emotional scenes that are supposed to make you cry will make you cringe. That's all. I just want to review to bring this drama to the stars it deserves.

I love the side characters though. Most of them are fun to watch.

So so good! Worth the watch! The best medical kdrama!
shareen_shany28 December 2021
This kdrama is good! From start to end, it gives you all that you need love, friendship & tears to your eyes. In each and every episode, the continuation is not tiring or boredom with numerous constant betrayal like most kdrama. It's a balance of everything factors.

The love story is slowly built-up with the subtle smile, touch, dialogue & so sweet! The medical scenes are so nerve-wrecking but exciting at the same time!

For the first i see a kdrama that an adopted father & son love each other so much. Its the best feeling ever!

The chemistry between the leading man & lady is fantastic! The way they talk to each other, the way they work in the operating room, the smole they give, the look, the discussion, the kisses, its worth to watch! Perfect interaction!

Even the supporting casts are awesome too!

Truly understand her reaction towards her dad, from the beginning scene, it was him yo left her at her grandmother! He has no right to accuse her leaving the house! Plus, the stepmom who is evil when she is not sick, & still evil when she is ill! She demands attention from the stepdaughter that she has not seen 13 years!

Worth binge watch!

Have watched this drama numerous times!

Good enough
PennyReviews16 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Doctors is one of 2016 hit dramas and you could find it on the hot lists throughout the year. And though it started promising, for me, it kind of turned out to be a bit boring. The story is about a girl who had problems growing up, with school and with her family. After her beloved granny dies, she decides to make her grandmother's dream come true and become a doctor. Meanwhile, she develops a close relationship with her teacher, who also rents a room at her grandmother's house. But they grow apart after the granny's death and a school scandal. Ten years later, the girl is a doctor working in a prestigious hospital, when she meets her old teacher again (who's a doctor as well by the way). Okay, I have to admit, I love the full of drama background stories, in which the hero is so unfortunate that everything that could possibly go wrong, well, goes wrong, but, in the end, he or she strives. So, the first few episodes were my favourite. However, the ten-years-later story was okay at first, but became really boring in the end, to the point that only the medical stories were interesting. The romance was weak, as well as the love triangle, as the characters didn't have lots of chemistry. The performances were good and the surgeries were very realistic, to the point that you had to look away when they opened one's scalp. Anyway, because of the first episodes and because we could see the development of the character, 3 out of 10.

Deep long sigh....
elbehar6 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
KIM RAE WON need I say more? He's got that smile that just helps melt away all your troubles. He's the kind of actor that rarely disappoints and this drama is one of the good ones.

Actors * * * * * (Kim Rae-won) Intrigue * * * * * Villains * * * * * * Romance * * * * * (especially sweet) Sidekicks * * * * * Nagging Parents * * * * * Jealous Shrew * * * * * (one of the best I've seen... love to hate her)

He was her high school teacher and they had an odd bond that many could not understand. They even thought it was unhealthy and there might be something more between them.

13 years later Hye Jung (Park Shin Hye), is no longer a reckless student, but is now a neurosurgen and happens to work in the same hospital as her mentor Ji Hong (Kim Rae Won).

With each having their own personal agenda in mind they face face a few dificulties not only within their relationship, but in the operating room.

A Great Television Series about a Girl's Life Story
chamicaradesilva8 February 2023
Ohh! Okay if I will be honest with you guys this TV Series gives me every emotion that human being could have; Love, Anger, Loneliness, Happiness and of course Sadness. I mean I don't think so every person could feel it that way because if you have to deeply feel this story maybe you just needs to be a experienced alone person. Storyline is short and sweet and of course it's just a One Season and I'm happy about that otherwise this drama will be boring because this is a story about someone's Life it's just like you're watching about a Documentary. I think director got that thing as thought before making this drama. Also I love Park Shin-hye's smile it's just like so natural and sweet. Just like most of K-Dramas "Doctos" too have a happy ending that shows Bad people realize about their past things and turn into Good People. Finally I think this one will be my favorite K-Drama and if I invite everyone to watch and have a fun.

Thanks,

Waste of time!
srijasingh-417465 October 2022
To begin with, I'll be upfront and say that I have only watched 5 episodes until now and I don't think I am going to continue with this. The lead couple meet each other as student and teacher and were both interested and attracted since then itself... and there is so much wrong with that. Plus, I absolutely hated his whole teacher persona, the way he interacted with all the students was so messed up and manipulative and just plain wrong. The needs to be space in a relationship with such immense power disparity, and both sides need to respect this distance. Also, I just hated that guy's laugh, just so jarring.

Not a fan, still thinking if I should continue.

In short, it is insulting to human morals from the standpoint of age proportionality, and from the standpoint of the teacher and student.
naorsalat30 August 2023
In the beginning, the two main characters appear and that they are a teacher and a student, and the other students begin to suspect that there is a strange affection between the professor and the student, and rumors begin to spread, and then the distinguished student, who has become an outcast, comes and accuses them of having an emotional relationship. They both strongly and categorically deny it. At the end of the series, the professor marries the student, who is more than 18 years younger than him. ??????

What is going on with the author??? This is insolence. They destroyed the relationship of respect between the professor and the student, and greatly misjudged the age compatibility of up to 18 years. This is insulting and hurtful and distorts the personality of the professor and the student's sense of mind.

3rd Class Drama !
zackary-6227217 December 2020
I would say it as 3rd class drama. Have no plot, no acting. And no chemistry between leads. Anyone can play such type drama even non rated actor/actress can do the job. Flop drama I must say.
