Lydia Spring pays a visit to Leo Walke on the understanding that he may have pertinent answers, to the queries that she needs help with relating to her family. Walke claims to be able to answer at least some of her queries.

After their help in her escape Farah Black agrees to join Dirk Gently and Todd Brotzman, in a further investigation into Leo Walke's property. Farah tries to talk with Leo on the phone regarding the whereabouts of Lydia, they wind up talking at cross purposes with no resolution.

Farah speculates about the circumstances of her capture, trying to make sense of particular aspects of it.

Dirk has a strange moment with Todd who declares that he has had enough, and goes off in a strop.

CIA Unit Corporal Hugo Friedkin and Colonel Scott Riggins, meet up for their surveillance duty of a former 'Blackwing' subject. Col. Riggins tries without success to explain, the CIA Special Operation Blackwing to Friedkin. Along with his Mission as its Head, to keep tabs on the subjects being scrutinised.

Bart Curlish quizzes her new found partner Ken about stuff that he knows, that she has no understand of. Until their casual drive is interrupted by bikers, who attack their car forcing it off the road.

Todds sister Amanda has suddenly decided to venture out of her home, as she strolls along she phones Todd to keep him up to speed. But she discovers that she is being tailed by a beat up old van, she keeps on walking and it keeps on following.

The police Missing Persons team Zimmerfield and Estevez meet up in their office, with Leo Walke's dog Rapunzel. Todd Brotzman turns up with evidence, asking to speak with them.

Farah Black and Dirk Gently return to the home of her employer Patrick Spring, and she fills him in on something of the places history.

Todd tries to explain what little he knows and certainly understands, about the circumstances surrounding Lydia Spring. But he finds himself being quizzed about ancient history, regarding the band The Mexican Funeral.

Amanda is well out of her usual solitary comfort zone, as she strolls around a local supermarket to get her own shopping. But Amanda suddenly has a severe attack that freaks her out, such that she urgently needs her brothers assistance. But before Todd can arrive Amanda receives help from a totally unexpected source, non other than those who had been tailing her in the tatty van.

Bart and Ken have been incarcerated into a weird metal construction, in the middle of what appears to be a cornfield.

Farah and Dirk are in a meeting with Patrick Springs lawyer, who explains to her the aspects of Springs will.

Todd arrives breathless at Amanda's home to be with her in the hour of need, to have her ask after DIrk.

Patrick Spring has left Farah Black a letter to be handed to her, on the express consideration that she is accompanied by Dirk Gently. The letter contains a map that they try and interpret, that leads them to an underground laboratory.

Their biker attackers return to Bart and Ken to find out about their dead friend, but things don't exactly go as they imagined that it might.

Amanda and Todd return to his pad, to discover that Dirk and Farah are already there. They study what transpires as a plan of the very building block, that contains Todd's apartment.

Todd is deeply uncertain of what anything actually means, while Dirk endeavours to persuade Todd. To help him solve the case.

But Dirk is suddenly confronted by Colonel Riggins who greats him as Project Icarus, Riggins wants Gently to return to Blackwing for debriefing.

What on earth is going on? I am caught between thriller and comedy. Obviously I am understanding this series. Excellent, a little detective work and a fair bit of comedy. Love it. My type of humour.
