Maya Hawke has said that she “would do anything” to star in a Stranger Things spin-off series with Joe Keery.
The actor – who is the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke – joined the Netflix sci-fi series in sesason three as Robin, a co-worker of Keery’s character Steve.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Hawke said that she would “love” for her character to die in the show’s finale.
“I would love to die and get my hero’s moment,” she said. “I’d love to die with honor, as any actor would.”
However, Hawke added that, should Robin survive, she’d want the pair to get their own spin-off series.
Hawke suggested that the series would see Robin and Steve get out of Hawkins in the Nineties, “where we go to New York and we’re just partying in the clubs and figuring our s*** out...

Any posthumous album is, by its nature, haunting — the sound of ghosts on wax forever floating in a state between unfinished project and final-ever recordings. But in the case of Phife Dawg, who died in 2016 at the age of 45 from diabetes complications, that purgatorial sense feels particularly cruel. At the time of his death, the rapper born Malik Taylor had reunited — albeit tenuously — with New York hip-hop icons A Tribe Called Quest. That reunion led to Tribe’s final album, the excellent We Got It From Here … Thank You 4 Your Service,...

Zoë Kravitz got a Catwoman-themed surprise during her SNL hosting debut this week: more Catwomen.
After Kravitz joked about how she “watched the movie musical Cats every day for a year” to prepare for her role as Catwoman in The Batman, Kate McKinnon appeared in a leather dominatrix suit asking, “Somebody out here talking about cats?”
McKinnon quickly revealed that she was “the Catwoman from the Nineties, the one with the whip.” She then revealed her origin story to Kravitz.
“Ok, I fell out of a window onto a pile of cats.

The first Heart single to feature Nancy Wilson on lead vocals was “These Dreams,” with an iconic video that featured the guitarist and her sister Ann with peak Eighties hair, silk blazers, fog, and some more hair. But flash-forward to the present — with all that glam preserved on a high shelf like a can of hairspray collecting dust — and the song still holds up, particularly when Wilson performs it on acoustic with her husky vocals. Every second of the night, she’s lived another life.

Ahead of the Father of the Bride mini-sequel on Friday, Steve Martin and Kimberly Williams-Paisley appeared on Today to discuss the Banks family reunion.
Hosted by Jenna Bush Hager, Martin (who played George Banks) and Williams-Paisley (Annie Banks) reminisced about 1991’s Father of the Bride and the 1995 sequel, directed by Nancy Meyers. “A phrase I hear a lot is ‘Welcome to the Nineties, Mr. Banks,’ Martin says, a line that Martin Short says in the film. Jokes Williams-Paisley: “My kids have both been given math lessons with the hot dog buns.

It’s been virtually impossible to avoid David Foster for close to five decades. No matter the era, he’s been part of your pop life. Grew up in the Seventies? You probably remember his first hit, “Wildflower,” when he was in Canadian pop-r&b band Skylark; the Tubes’ “She’s a Beauty,” which he co-wrote and produced; and Earth, Wind & Fire’s “After the Love Has Gone,” which Foster co-wrote. In the Eighties, there was Boz Scaggs’ “Jojo,” a slew of Chicago comeback power ballads (“Hard to Say I’m Sorry,...

By creating greater opportunity for all voices, we can empower change in our communities and move the world forward.
When assembling the footage for “Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen,” director Sam Feder and editor Stacy Goldate knew they were dealing with something big. The film, which played in the Documentary Premieres section of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, represents the first major chronicle of transgender narratives in film and television, weaving archival clips — some from the earliest days of cinema — with personal reflections from luminaries like Laverne Cox, Yance Ford, and Jen Richards. With each month that passes, Netflix subscribers brace for a new wave of content – movies, TV shows, binge-worthy Netflix Originals… that kind of thing.
But in order to make way for that fresh deluge of entertainment, the streaming service sheds a number of titles, and February 2020 is no different. So as subscribers prepare themselves for Altered Carbon season 2 and Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, they must also bid farewell to the likes of District 9, Gangs of New York and The Matrix Trilogy. Though surely the first Matrix film is the only one worthy of a goodbye. The sequels? Not so much.
Horror fans will be forced to bid adieu to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, too, while much of the Jeopardy! series will be leaving the Netflix service on February 27th. It’s part and parcel of the company’s ‘revolving door’ approach to content; as new material is added...

President Donald Trump’s unorthodox July 4th event will feature a speech by the Commander-in-Chief, jet planes and even tanks. What it won’t have, most likely, is traditional wall-to-wall coverage from the nation’s news outlets.
Fox News Channel is setting aside two hours that can be used to televise President Donald Trump’s “Salute to America,” expected to take place 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Memorial. C-span will televise it as well. But MSNBC executives plan to monitor the event as it takes place and could decide to run clips if warranted, according to a person familiar with the matter. CNN, which did not respond to a query seeking comment, usually has personnel at the ready to interrupt pre-taped programming in case news warrants a live broadcast.
Trump’s holiday celebration would take place during an MSNBC hour usually anchored by Ari Melber and during CNN’s early-evening “Situation Room.

Ahead of CNN’s “The Nineties,” TheWrap staff counts down the 90 Best Movies of the ’90s. 90. “There’s Something About Mary” The Farrelly Brothers’ “There’s Something About Mary” is smutty, stupid and silly in the best way possible. Ben Stiller is at his most vulnerable and humiliated as a man face to face with his dream girl (Cameron Diaz) yet constantly sticking his foot in his mouth as other rivals compete for Mary’s attention. 89. “Philadelphia” Tom Hanks plays a gay, HIV positive lawyer whose only help comes from a homophobic lawyer played by Denzel Washington, both giving stellar performances.
