Betty is wearing a jumper with a crown on it to celebrate Jughead's birthday - this, of course, relates to the comics when Jughead is always wearing a crown.
Veronica tells Jughead "Feliz cumpleaños, Torombolo." Torombolo is Jughead's name in the Spanish versions of the comic and cartoons.
Veronica's mentions that the payments between Blossom Maple Farms and Lodge Industries had been happening for 75 years, a reference to the 75th anniversary of Archie Comic, which was marked on December 2016.
Betty and Jughead go to see "An American Werewolf In London" from which the cover for the comic "Jughead: The Hunger" is taken. Also in it, Jughead says he doesn't see Betty as "An American Werewolf kind of girl." She responds with "That's where you're wrong, I'm all about the beast inside." In "Jughead: The Hunger" Betty comes from a long line of werewolf hunters and has to hunt Jughead because of him turning into a werewolf.
The Lost Weekend was a movie that starred Ray Milland. He won an Academy Award as best actor for his role as an alcoholic writer.
