- There is some blood in this film.
- A demon sticks a key into a girls neck and supposedly locks her throat, then does it again with a sharp key and unlocks it and the victims head slams on the floor. There is no blood throughout this scene.
- A man intensely beats a woman that is hiding behind something and it is referenced that she is being held captive by the man.

- There are plenty of 'jumpy' moments throughout the movie, similar to the previous Insidious movies.
- A father punishes his child early on in the movie by whipping her. It is a brief scene but quite intense for some.
- While Elise is being interrogated, her mind flashes back to her childhood horrors, then she sees a vision of her niece with her eyes missing and a chain around her neck, screaming.
- The main demon in the movie is very frightening and has very terrifying and intense features.
- There is one scene where Elise is staring at a door and is briefly possessed, her eyes turn completely white, and she breathes heavily and fast.
- A father verbally abuse his wife over his child
- A father is abusive towards his wife and children especially his eldest child.

- An evil man gets hit by a door and falls. Then another man pushes over a cabinet onto his head and kills him.
- A young girl is hit in the back with a cane by her father. She screams in pain
- The mother is lifted up by the neck and strangled to death by a demon.
- A young girl is stabbed through the back of the neck in a spirit realm. The image is brief and not too visceral.
