This was still not a great episode, we're still waiting for one this second season, but it was crucial for Noah's development. Until this point he had a one dimensional anger behind him, but we actually saw some growth here on a personal level. His commitment to ending slavery was still there, but he was going to be smarter about.
Hopefully they don't reduce Cato's fling to another one of TV's powerless female characters. Great actress and she deserves better.
