Quite underwhelming
00_dexx23 February 2021
The movie title and the synopsis are very misleading, I thought it was gonna be a horror/thriller so the actual plot was disappointing. While I did enjoy the performance of the actors, it couldn't carry the movie. The not-so-surprising "plot twist" came half way through the film so it became very boring after that. Overall, wouldn't recommend.

Decent drama and good performances. Beware: title can mislead!

To those who are trying to figure out whether to watch it: pay attention to where it says "Genre: Drama", and not so much to the title which can be misleading.

My rating: 6.7.

Captivating performances from both Cosmo Jarvis and Lauren Coe
thevalkyriesonline13 October 2019
Cosmo Jarvis looks like he is about to take over from Tom Hardy as the next big male lead. His large presence in both stature and performance speaks volumes. Nocturnal is an intriguing tale of a friendship between 16 year old Laurie and 33 year old Pete, there is an underlying current to the friendship with a grey area as to why...

Shot in 18 days, forgotten in 18 seconds...

It's well that the utter flatness of this film was shot in 18 days and no more time was wasted for everybody involved. The actors are decent enough, but the rest is so dull and unintelligent on every level you can imagine that I cannot recommend it even as a curiosity.

its a story about sexual predators
ops-5253528 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Evolving into some serious old vs. young half secret relationship, that develops over many days, and even more at the vesperious side of the diurnal clock.its a moralbreaking thematick of sex in minor years, and lonesome male werewolf dribling over his fangs in the hunt for a good piece of fresh lamb.

its a social antropologic vibe over this play, and as usual to many dramas, its divorce and poverty issues that's on the agenda.but showing of the damping chimneys of a power plant somewhere eastcoast yorkshire, doesnt give lift for my wings of recommendation, its not an ugly or stupid film, its just so cold, grey, windy , dark and sad story that do not reach me with its claws. the grumpy old man likes the lighter brighter movie now that fall sets in.. its like a wingblown bird by the poachers pond, a stukadive towards the british soil., and not a recommend

Great indie film

Great indie film. Cosmo Jarvis absolutely crushed. Details mattered and great visuals - see parts of the UK you never get to see, even if you've lived there. Film left me shook in a good way. Characters really take you for a ride.

Wow

I was lucky enough to watch this film at the BFI festival and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. It never underestimated its audience; the characters are constantly in psychological motion, and the audience are artfully conveyed on their journey. We get to know them, walk with them, laugh, hate and grow with them. I couldn't recommend this beautifully shot piece more!

Gripping nightclub scenw

Generally good film, but Adam Kerr's performance in the night club evokes feelings of Marlon Brando's golden years. Fully recommend, if only for Kerr's crowning depiction of modern dance culture.
