People think this is the worst episode
ericstevenson9 December 2017
This certainly has the lowest rating of any episode I've seen in the whole series, but I'm willing to be more kind to it. We get to see some funny appearances by Emperor Pilaf and his lackies. They really are starting to remind me of Team Rocket. It's especially with how they are able to build these giant robots so quickly for their schemes. Then again, these guys of course appeared in the original "Dragonball" which predates the pokemon anime by over a decade. Well, the Terrible Trio is simply a trope anyone can use.

This episode features Goku realizing he can't control his body well enough. We even get a nice cameo from Arale from "Doctor Slump"! That is literally the first time I have ever seen a "Doctor Slump" character appear in any Dragon Ball media. I wish that Vegeta would have been angrier when Goku accidentally teleported into their house. He probably wouldn't like hearing that Goku was an accidental pervert when he first met Bulma. At least we get to see Pan express her power for the first time. **1/2

Filler that is a fun watch and great animation
sam_smithreview15 May 2016
Not going to hide the fact that this is a filler episode. Nothing is done to progress the story, but yet, somehow the episode is still enjoyable, and on the plus side we have some really great animation.

The Story is that Goku after using Kaio-Ken times 10 during his Super blue transformation ruptured his inner Ki, and now his ability to fly, use Ki and other forms of his super abilities are all not working or working with side effects and not properly. Goku decides to Rest up and not train, but just look after his grand daughter Pan.

While at the same time an old nemesis returns to try and steal some more money and take advantage of Goku's illness, only to find themselves shocked at the Goku family as the little cute Pan turns out to be more trouble then she is worth.

for me this was a great episode, Goku makes Bulma and Vegeta really mad, Piccolo is awesome in this episode too. It has the original dragon ball feel to it. Just a fun anime episode in general.

The very definition of filler

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely nothing happens in the episode that relates at all the the story ark.

Let's give Goku a random illness, that can be cured with rest, to take him out of the episode. But first will spend half the episode figuring what's wrong with him.

The second half is just Pan running around.

I get that they tried to make this episode feel like Dragon Ball, but the series has evolved too much from that to have all the characters in such a storyline.

Would have worked better as a standalone for Trunks/Goten, or perhaps Pan when she is a bit older.
